The Amazon jungle, one the last great wildernesses left in this world is getting cut down day by day at an alarming rate! By giving the jungle a value through sustainable eco-tourism and education more land can be protected to preserve this beautiful and amazing place! How can you help? By joining this project and educating tourist and locals about the importance of the Amazon Jungle! How will you do this? Through volunteering at an eco-tourism organization who educates through overnight survival trips in the Amazing Amazon Jungle! Tagesablauf
With this volunteer project you get the opportunity to get involved with a local small eco-tourism organization whose home base is located in Manaus a city which with its 1.7 Million inhabitants is an island in the immense Amazon Jungle. The organization is run by current and former members of the military Jungle rescue division led by a Lieutenant and his familiy who will be your host during your stay In the Amazon.
Projects you will mainly be involved in:
- Learn how to survive in the Amazon jungle
- Assist with 2 days and overnight jungle survival trips
- Train with local military survival experts
- Teach English
- Learn Portuguese
- Educate locals and tourist about the importance to sustain the environment
- And many other projects!
Organizations like these give the jungle a long term sustainable financial value to the country opposed to the short term gain of logging this precious ecosystem.
Freizeitaktivitäten
When in Manaus Volunteers will have the opportunity to go shopping, check out the night life, city tours, and so much more! When on the Amazon, there will be lots of sightseeing and wildlife viewing, you can also enjoy a fresh dip in the rivers. Please take into consideration that any leisure time activity will be covered by the volunteer themselves.

Voraussetzungen
Um an diesem Programm teilzunehmen, musst du zu Programmbeginn mindestens 18 Jahre alt sein. Es kann Ausnahmen geben, wenn du die Erlaubnis deines/r Erziehungsberechtigten vorlegen kannst oder wenn du von deinen Eltern begleitet wirst
Du brauchst folgende Sprachkenntnisse: Englisch (Fortgeschritten)
CV, Resume, Letter of Motivation, Two pics und Signed Policies and Liability form
Es gibt keine Beschränkungen. Helfende Hände aus aller Welt sind willkommen.

Leistungen
The Fees include:
- Accommodation - Private room Manaus, when on a trip; your own private Hammock!
- Meals - 3 meals a day Included
- Airport Pick up and Transfer - You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your accommodation
- In-country Transfers - All tranfers related to your volunteer internship included
- Portugese tutoring - Your host family will teach you Portuguese through private tutoring on your days off and on your convenience.
- Tours included - You will go on the following tours: Manaus City tour, Visit to Monkey Island Sanctuary, Visit a Amerindian village, Fish for Piranhas and Visit the meeting of the waters
- Ongoing Service and 24/7 Emergency Contact
You will arrive in the capital of the Amazon Jungle where you will be met and travel directly to your homestay where you will start adjusting for your upcoming adventure.
When in Manaus you will stay at a Brazilian host family where you will have your own room. When on trip you will sleep mostly in a hammock in the jungle. Meals will be provided in both the jungle by the organization and in Manaus by your host family. Linen and towels will be provided by the homestay.
Included 3 meals a day and will be provided by the homestay familiy and the project.

Visa, Flüge, Reiseversicherung und Impfungen sind NICHT in den Programmgebühren enthalten.
Der nächstgelegene Flughafen ist Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO) in Manaus. Wir helfen dir günstige Flüge nach Brasilien zu finden.
Ins Ausland zu gehen ist ein Abenteuer, auf das man sich stets gut vorbereiten sollte. Plötzliche Krankheit oder Verletzung, Stornierung oder Diebstahl - eine Reiseversicherung für Brasilien bietet die nötige Sicherheit.
Bevor du deine Freiwilligenarbeit in Brasilien antrittst, solltest du dich noch einmal von deinem Arzt beraten lassen und deine erforderlichen Impfungen für Brasilien überprüfen.
