Volunteers will work at the Social Support Center with around 50 women, accompanied by the Volunteer Vietnam physiotherapist. As well, there are two physiotherapists who work at the center who will support us. The Volunteer Vietnam physiotherapist will teach volunteers the physiotherapy methods used and will work closely with the volunteers. You will work approximately 16 hours per week in the physiotherapy program. When you are not working in the physiotherapy program, you will be helping out with the other programs, such as the teaching program and care program.
The Volunteer Vietnam team is well organized and each member has experience in working with volunteers. Volunteers are given a weekly schedule of their work times and activities. Volunteers will have a meeting each day with the Volunteer Vietnam team physiotherapist to discuss the therapy that will be provided for the patients.
You will be working at the Social Support Center for the physiotherapy program, which is a home for around 200 men and women, every afternoon. We will be working with around 50 women. All of them require physiotherapy and occupational therapy. There is a rehabilitation room at the Center and you will be shown how to use the physiotherapy equipment.
Tagesablauf
The day starts at 7.30 am with breakfast at the volunteer house. At 8 am you will travel to your work place by car, driven by a Volunteer Vietnam team member. You work from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. You return to the volunteer house for lunch around 12 am. Your lunch time is from 12am to 1:30 pm. This time is your free time to do whatever you like. At 1:30pm you will travel to your work place and finish at 4:30 pm. Dinner is served at the volunteer house at 5 pm. In the evening your time is free. Some options are going out for coffee, going downtown, or getting a massage.The volunteer's weekly work schedule is approximately 6 hours per day from Monday to Thursday and 3 hours on Friday.
Freizeitaktivitäten
Visit the delta by boat for photo opportunities and meet with local people, visiting fruit gardens or rice fields, staying in a bungalow resort in the heart of the delta and get the evening experience about the rural area. You will have the chance to enjoy local food, traditional music and learn cooking. Visit Can Tho Capital City to see floating markets, have some local fruits, walk around the city, and do some shopping.

Voraussetzungen
Um an diesem Programm teilzunehmen, musst du zu Programmbeginn mindestens 18 Jahre alt sein. Es kann Ausnahmen geben, wenn du die Erlaubnis deines/r Erziehungsberechtigten vorlegen kannst oder wenn du von deinen Eltern begleitet wirst
Du brauchst folgende Sprachkenntnisse: Englisch (Grundkenntnisse)
Once a volunteer has confirmed their placement, we will send you our application form in word version und you need to fill in the form and send to us by email together with a copy of your passport. We will arrange a visa approval letter based on the documents.

Volunteers do not need any special skills to volunteer for this program. We need your passion in providing care and support, willing to learn and understand the local perspectives. However, it would be great if you could have some skills in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing or health care.

Leistungen
The program fees include:
- Placement arrangement which includes a volunteer permit and visa approval letter
- Pick up on arrival, two day training program
- 24/7 support staff team during the whole stay
- Accommodation, meals and transport to work
- Sightseeing tours in the city
- Transport back to the airport when finished
- Volunteers are expected to arrive at Can Tho International Airport ( VCA). The airport is 35 km from the volunteer house
- Our staff Ms Suong or Ms Huyen will pick you up on your arrival. They are easily recognized while holding " Welcome to Volunteer Vietnam"
- We drive you to the volunteer house by the volunteer car and it takes around one hour.
We accommodate in a volunteer house which is in the heart of Vi Thanh city. The house has the comfortable facilities such as bedrooms, kitchen, living rooms, outdoor relaxing area, TV and wifi internet. The bedrooms are equipped with sleeping beds, soft mattress, pillows, blankets, AC, western toilets and bathroom. There are 03 bedrooms in the house and can sleep volunteers to share rooms. When the house is full we will sleep volunteers in a hotel near the volunteer house. Volunteers who live in the hotel will walk to volunteer house to have meals and work with other volunteers.

Volunteers are provided 03 meals per day from Monday to Friday plus breakfast on Saturday morning by our cook . You’ll have a chance to enjoy both Western and Vietnamese cuisines in the local dining room. You should budget for all other meals during the weekend. We will recommend some local restaurants near the volunteer house where they serve Vietnamese food which is delicious.We provide safe transportation to go to work. We will provide each volunteer a bicycle. For the closest placement site, Hoa Mai Home of Affection, volunteers will bike together with our staff. For the further placement site, the primary school, we will provide a volunteer car.

Visa, Flüge, Reiseversicherung und Impfungen sind NICHT in den Programmgebühren enthalten.
Der nächstgelegene Flughafen ist Can Tho Airport (VCA) in Can Tho. Wir helfen dir günstige Flüge nach Vietnam zu finden.
Ins Ausland zu gehen ist ein Abenteuer, auf das man sich stets gut vorbereiten sollte. Plötzliche Krankheit oder Verletzung, Stornierung oder Diebstahl - eine Reiseversicherung für Vietnam bietet die nötige Sicherheit.
Bevor du deine Freiwilligenarbeit in Vietnam antrittst, solltest du dich noch einmal von deinem Arzt beraten lassen und deine erforderlichen Impfungen für Vietnam überprüfen.
