Where we work?

We are working in a conservation concession area of approximately 200ha, designated for conservation by the Peruvian government. The conssecion is located in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, bordering the Madre de Dios River and can be reached from the city of Puerto Maldonado by a one hour boat ride. Within the concession area there is an abundance wildlife that we are protecting and study.

What we do?

We protect part of the amazon junlge of Tambopata, we investigate and encourage research, we train and we give opportunity to learn to students, researchers and volunteers who want to be part of this mission

Our History

The founders are enthusiastic Peruvian biologist that have been working in different areas of conservation, specific with primates and bats, that’s how we decide to designed our logo, we just combine what we enjoy most. And we decide to create this organization for keep doing what we like, in our style, and try to make some impact for future generations. In February 2017 own director Raul Bello winning a Conservation Concession area that was giving by the Peruvian authorities. Since there the dream for have and run a Biological Station start to be real…and now we are ready working on it.

Our goals?

We aim to preserve the Amazon wildlife through education  and research programs and by promoting sustainable activities with the support of local parties.  In addition, we want to be an alternative for strengthening student skills, giving them the opportunity to learn and apply their knowledge to develop professionally.

Why choose us?

Kawsay means “Life” in Quechua language (from the Inka culture), in the amazon rainforest you can see and have good example of life, a place with a lot diversity. And in the context that this part of the amazon is in danger because there is many human activities that threat this ecosystem, That’s why as a professionals that respects the different forms of life, we want to give an opportunity to others for learn and understand the importance of the amazon rainforest and to help us to protect this part of the forest in the conservation concession near to Tambopata National Reserve.

Ours presents in the area that was giving to us for the Peruvian government will ensure the protection and conservation of this land and with our research in difference topics will give us better knowledge and understand about the importance of the forest and how it works.
