Groups
This project's main goal is generating love, self-esteem, and better education for children and youth from vulnerable communities in Cusco, Peru. We work with children between the ages of 5 and 12, and youth ages 13 and 18.
Most of the activities developed at the center are focused in raising the children and youth's self esteem and giving them moral support, in helping them learn new skills, listening to them with patience and care, and teaching them values. We want to create a space where these children and relax and feel safe in.

Volunteers may also directly collaborate in areas such as computer use, art and expression, and school reinforcement and tutoring for children and teens with difficulties. Volunteers encourage to be creative and proactive, by organising workshops and didactic games to support children in their learning and development.

Volunteers must also be adaptable, as they may face situations such as:
  • More children than usual
  • Children from different ages in a same class
  • Children with special educational needs
  • Lack of available didactic material.
Your help will create an immense impact in the lives of every child and teen in this program.

Typical day

Volunteers work on weekdays (Monday through Friday) on two shifts:
  • Morning shift: from 8:30 to 12:00
  • Afternoon shift: from 14:50 to 19:00 (Schools in Cusco and the Sacred Valley).
During school holidays, the project only opens in the morning from 8:50 to 13:00. It's also closed in Cusco during national holidays.
Weekends are free for volunteers to explore and discover everything Peru has to offer them.

Free-time activities

Peru is one of the most diverse countries you could go to: it has everything from jungle to mountains, from historical cities and inca ruins to a bustling modern capital, from sandy beaches to sandy desert oases... Peru has everything you would like to discover as a traveler and far more. Some of the places we would recommend you to visit during your stay here are:
  • Lima: Peru's capital, it's located in its central coast. Here you may find modern buildings and beautiful historical monuments, with warm temperatures all year round. Lima has even been declared a World Heritage Site due to its astonishing concentration of monuments. Some of the monuments we recommend you to visit are the Citadel of Pachacamac, the palace Torre Tagle Plaza de Acho, the House of the Inquisition, the National Museum, and the Alameda de los Descalzos.
  • Cusco: Known as the "Navel of the World" and the city where you will be staying at during your volunteering, it's one of Peru's main tourist spots. Cusco is well known for being a charming and mystical city, filled with unique churches, colonial buildings, picturesque streets, and very friendly people. While in Cusco, you can visit places like the Plaza de Armas, Qurikancha,  and Saqsaywaman. Additionally, from Cusco you can go visit Machu Picchu, one of the archaeological jewels of the world, and a place you can definitely not miss.
  • Manu National Park: A national park right in the Peruvian Amazon, it's the perfect oportunity for you to discover the world's greatest biodiversity, while also getting to know many of the native communities that still live and maintain their traditions in it. It's the perfect place for any person who loves nature, travel, and responsible tourism.
  • Callejón de las Huaylas: A valley of immesurable beauty, with many landscapes, where you can find a large amount of places to visit, such as Inca relics in places like Honcopampa and Tumshucaico, picturesque Andean towns filled with folkore and traditions, 22 hot springs (of which the most well-known are the Chancos Hot Springs and the Monterrey Thermal Baths), lagoons, cascades, and many other places that are part of the charm of this valley.
