Possible tasks:
In the morning, after you had breakfast with your host family, you get in the trufi
(the common public transport) to your project. As always, there is rush
hour and traffic but you get to chitchat with the locals. It takes a
while to get to the project but you are used to it by now.
The project organized summer school for the girls and you offered to give English and Sports classes in the morning. You prepared a simple conversation game with a lot of interaction and later you teach them the "body parts" in a playful way. In your Sports classes you continue with Volleyball and the girls already caught up on the rules and techniques, and
they start to play a full match and are motivated. It's loud and you
play the referee without avoiding many discussions about fairness.
After Lunch, you meet with a group of girls, that volunteered to start a gardening project with you. You are a little disappointed because only two girls showed up for the third meeting, but they are enthusiastic
and you finish the timber frame with wood you gathered in the nearby
forest and still feeling the warming up from the Sport classes, you finish your day of work with dirty hands but a 2m x 4m frame where you plan to plant some vegetables with the girls.
In
the afternoon you head back to the city and you find that you don’t
have much energy left, but you need to prepare classes for the next day.
A bummer, especially because there is a concert at the Jazz Café you
don’t want to miss out. After taking a shower at home, you decide to
grab Dinner in the street instead of eating with your host family and
have a Choripan from your favorite street vendor.
In Cochabamba you can find hospitals and western doctors, supermarkets, good mobile signal and a vast cultural life. There are National Parks nearby, sportstudios, museums, music-schools and yoga studios. Hiking-trails in the nearby mountains and trips to Villa Tunari and other Bolivian Hotspots.
