Welcome to Australia’s Coastal Paradise!
Two weeks in Brisbane will show you everything you could want in an Educational Vacation: Learning, Entertainment, Wildlife, and Marine Wonder!
Arrive in beautiful Brisbane and immediately jump into the action on Day 1 as the first stop of the Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour is the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and then Springbrook National Park.
This wondrous park will be your home for the next 5 days, featuring walks in the rainforest and presentations from park staff on the threatened Koala species and safety!
Day 2 is host to hands-on conservation activities with the staff, along with the chance to set up your own remote camera in the park to take a sneak peek at the rare wildlife!
Evenings at Springbrook National Park are a chance to either explore on your own or participate in some spotlight walking to find nocturnal animals like the Brush-tailed possums, sugar gliders, and spot the glowing mushrooms!
Day 3 is highlighted by Bird Watching hikes while Day 4 is highlighted by water quality monitoring activities and group discussions!
The fifth day of the Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour plays host to more bird watching and a trip to Germaine Greer’s astounding home-grown, 65-hectare rain forest being created from bare ground! A once in a lifetime treat!
Your final day at Springbrook National Park is a chance to really focus on protecting the beautiful rainforest and celebrate your stay around a campfire with marshmallows!
Day 7 of Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour transitions to the Woodstock Cattle Property for two days of exploration and learning at one of the most environmentally friendly Cattle Farms on Earth, a hallmark of the CVA Biodiversity Rehabilitation Plan!
Day 9 of the Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour takes you deep into the heart of beautiful Brisbane City. Tour the University of Queensland Campus and take a Ferry Ride through the city!
The next day, enjoy learning about the Aboriginals, the oldest living culture in the world! Experience their cuisine for lunch at the Coolnwynpin Creek before an afternoon of taking on the challenge of Marine Pollution!
Day 11 of the Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour includes an entry ticket to one of the two theme parks along the Gold Coast! Enjoy either Dreamworld (Australia’s largest theme park with over 40 rides and the Tiger Conservation Park) or dive into the Warner Brothers Movie World! It all depends on what YOU want!
The next day in Brisbane City, it’s an early morning that is worth setting the alarm for! The Brisbane Conservation Study EduTour takes you out to sea on a Whale Watching Cruise before your final group session of presentations and the certificate ceremony that evening.
Delight in shopping and free time in the city on departure day before transporting to the Brisbane International Airport.
Remember, no previous knowledge is necessary to enjoy this trip. Just bring a willingness to learn and an adventurous spirit. Oh, and your camera too!

Day 1: Arrival + Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
- Visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary – see and learn native Australian animals up-close (chances to feed kangaroo and pat a koala).
- Arrive at Springbrook National Park (approx. 2 hours’ drive) in late afternoon.
- Evening: Program overview – What is a threatened species and safety induction.
DAY 2: Springbrook National Park
- Evening: Group Activities
- Group 1 – spotlighting walk to find nocturnal animals such as ring and Brush-tailed possums, sugar gliders, and listen to frog calls. Can you see any glowing mushrooms?
- Group 2 – free time – explore the Adventure Playground near accommodation.
DAY 3: Springbrook National Park
- Morning: Bird Watching Activity – More than half of Australia’s colourful bird species are found in rainforests. Use the bird species list provided in your study booklet, watch and count the number of bird species you can see or hear.
- Explore more regions of the rainforest while undertaking land species. Distribution task using Quadrat method. Through this exercise, students will learn the risk of habitat deterioration by introduced plant and animal species.
- Afternoon: Help and protect this ecosystem by undertaking conservation activities.
- Evening: Group Activities
- Group 1 – Free time – explore the Adventure Playground near accommodation.
- Group 2 – Spotlighting walk to find nocturnal animals such as ring and Brush-tailed possums, sugar gliders, and listen to frog calls. Can you see any glowing mushrooms?
DAY 4: Springbrook National Park
- Morning: Water quality monitoring activity at nearby pond / waterfall. Learn about water cycle and its impact on all life on the planet.
- Afternoon: Retrieve remote sensing cameras within the park. Access and record useful data for wildlife research.
- Group discussion: recap information learned on threatened species in a rainforest ecosystem. Prepare for individual’s presentation.
DAY 5: Springbrook National Park
- Morning: One more bird watching activity. Can you recognise any bird species now?
- Afternoon: Once in a lifetime tour of Germaine Greer’s home-grown rainforest at Cave Creek, a 65-hectare ex-grazing property that is being transformed from bare ground to lush rainforest.
- Evening: Visit the Natural Bridge at sunset and walk back to the waterfall in the dark to look for glowing mushrooms before reaching the waterfall to spot glow worms.
DAY 6: Springbrook National Park
- Last day in Springbrook National Park.
- Today we focus on protecting this beautiful rainforest and all the animals by undertaking more habitat restoration tasks.
DAY 7: Woodstock Cattle Property
- Morning: Depart from Springbrook National Park to the Woodstock Cattle Property.
DAY 8: Woodstock Cattle Property
- Join us on this long-term project by undertaking conservation tasks.
- See wild kangaroos hopping on this transformed land!
- Group discussion: Mid-project review and prepare for student presentation at the end of the program.
DAY 9: Brisbane City
- Morning: Depart Woodstock Property for Brisbane city.
- Tour the University of Queensland campus – guided by university student association (subject to the University’s availability).
- Ferry ride through the city and experience the River Walk near Brisbane CBD.
DAY 10: Brisbane City
- Spend the day learning about the oldest living culture in the world – the Aboriginals.
- Experience local cuisine with a unique bushtucker (Aboriginal food) twist overlooking the beautiful Coolnwynpin Creek.
- Afternoon: Marine pollution is now one of the biggest global challenges faced by all.
DAY 11: Brisbane City
- Morning: Depart our Brisbane accommodation in the morning for one of the two theme parks in Gold Coast:
- 1. Dreamworld – Australia’s biggest theme park. Consists of more than 40 different rides and also one of the tiger conservation parks in the world.
- 2. Warner Brothers Movie World – Experience a day of fun rides and super hero themed activities including Batman, Superman, Wonder woman, and more.
DAY 12: Brisbane City
- Morning: Early departure for Whale Watching Cruise at Brisbane (subject to availability).
- Final group session, presentations and certificate ceremony.
