We seek to address the immediate and long term needs of communities by leveraging volunteers, partner organizations and the local community.

This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Our program is suited for both skilled and unskilled individuals who want to make a difference among disadvantaged kids in our local community.One of the major requirements is that one should have a passion for kids given that it involves interacting with kids.
Provide much-needed assistance at under-resourced childcare centers . Children range between 1 and 16 years old. Your duties will include teaching basic English and Math, hosting activities, helping with farm work, caring for babies and toddlers, and doing daily chores (cooking, cleaning, etc). You’ll see your impact right away as you give the children valuable social, emotional, and educational support.
The program also comes with cooking lessons for volunteers,lessons in swahili language,and organic farming.
During free time, explore happening Nairobi and the surrounding nature, like Nairobi National Park

Typical day

A typical day looks like the following: At 9AM TO 10 AM volunteers will have breakfast, 11 AM  the volunteer program begins and ends at 1 PM. We go back to the compound and freshen up. Lunch is usually served at 1PM TO 2PM From 2PM to 5 PM  volunteers have free time. From 5PM to 8 PM there volunteers spend time with kids from the local community. Dinner is served at 9PM.

SUMMARY From 10AM TO 1PM during weekdays volunteers will have two options 

  1. spending time at the day care where they will feed the children, prepare meals, carryout cleaning and babysitting 
  2. spending time at the local school where they will 

  • assist teachers during lessons in the classroom, 
  • teaching basic classes, for example, teaching them colours,shapes,numbers, 
  • engaging children in sports and games 
  • serving breakfast i.e. porridge during break time

From 2PM to 5PM volunteers will have their free time. From 5PM TO 8PM volunteers spend time with children from the local community where they can engage them in

  • Assisting with homework
  • Games and sports
  • Art work
  • Watching educational movies
  • Teaching basic English
  • Teaching hygiene and life skills
Volunteers will have free time on Saturdays and Sundays
An average of five volunteers are usually in the program

3.Animal orphanage
4.The 14th falls
5.Karura Forest Nature walk

8.Girrafe centre.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Basic knowledge in english grammar and maths, at At least the volunteer should have completed high school education level

Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30

Located in Githurai 45 Kiambu County Kenya, approximately 15km off the capital city Nairobi.The accommodation is a one bedroomed apartment with the following features

  1. Sitting room with an adjacent kitchen which has running water.The sitting room is spacious, and well ventilated, and has good lighting.
  2. One bedroom with a double decker bed.Its spacious, well ventilated with good lighting.
  3. Bathroom which has running water,

The area is quiet and serene with a spacious compound which has a garden.

Food & Beverages

We offer meals that can also cater for vegetarians.

  1. Breakfast- tea, coffee, milk, bread, eggs, snacks, bananas, apple, mangoes, paw paw
  2. Lunch- Rice, beans, green grams, wheat,y ams, cassavas, spaghetti, potatoes, beef, local vegetables, kales, cabbages, maize, noodles
  3. Supper- Rice, green grams, wheat, yams, cassavas, spaghetti, potatoes, beef, local vegetables, kales, cabbages, maize, noodles

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees. An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi. We assist you to find cheap flights to Kenya.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Kenya provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Kenya you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Kenya.

Deposit (15%)

Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with worldmeetskenya during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
