In this program the main objective is the conditioning of the home. The community most of the time does not have safe spaces for coexistence and education.

The volunteer seeks to improve the classrooms where children with different abilities carry out their classes. Activities such as plumbing, masonry, electricity... Thanks to the support of the volunteers, safe spaces are created for the children to continue their education and encourage them to continue growing professionally.

Typical day-to-day volunteer activities:


  • Small-scale reconstruction.

  • Site maintenance and/or development

  • Plumbing and electrical

  • Plastering of new structures

  • Painting which also includes murals and images for classrooms

Typical day

A typical volunteer day begins with waking up at the accommodation. Volunteers have breakfast and meet at the project to distribute the daily tasks, meet with the local coordinator and see what activities are planned for the day.

A typical volunteer day begins with waking up at the accommodation. Volunteers have breakfast and meet at the project to distribute the daily tasks, meet with the local coordinator and see what activities are planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned task. A stop is made for lunch and, depending on the needs, tasks are continued or free time is available.


The volunteer may visit nearby areas in his or her free time. 

In the evening volunteers gather for dinner.

The schedule is 4-5 hours per day.

ROSE LAKE

This lake is located north of the Senegalese peninsula of Cape Verde, in the department of Dakar, its pink color is due to the high level of salinity of the water and can be seen strong color in the dry season.

LOMPOUL DESERT

Located in the Sahel region, between Dakar and Saint-Louis, where you can take a tour of the dunes by camel and enjoy a nice campfire at sunset. 

SALOUM DELTA NATIONAL PARK

A World Heritage Site since 2011, it is the second largest natural park in Senegal, where you can see everything from grandiose mangroves to huge dunes and a variety of wildlife. 

MONUMENT TO THE AFRICAN RENAISSANCE

Located on the outskirts of Dakar, this 49-meter bronze sculpture was built by Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiby.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Other Skills

To be part of the program is not necessary any specific training, it is only required: Committed people, as you actively participate in educational and social activities that require your commitment. Willingness and ability to work in a team. It is important, as you collaborate with other volunteers and people from different cultures.

Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Accommodation

The volunteer sleeps in the volunteer house. The volunteer shares a room with other volunteers and also shares the common areas. 

Floor-level toilets (Turkish bath), showers with water tanks. The accommodation provides towels and bed linen for the volunteer.

Food & Beverages

The three daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included. These are local meals.

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.


Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence. 


Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
