Highlights

Join us in our mission to educate and empower communities across the Gambia.
Facilitate training programs in rural communities giving them the skills and knowledge for a better chance to succeed.
Help out in our specialised agricultural training programs. We teach anyone and everyone about innovative agricultural techniques and teach locals "how to make money" using agriculture.
Join us in our mission to improve livelihoods through agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship.
Join the MyFarm On Wheels truck in providing an "educational journey from seed to business"
MyFarm on wheels is the coolest truck in Gambia. It is fitted with everything we need to facilitate our curriculum to the whole country.
This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Singles
Couples

We want our learning to go beyond MyFarm... So we create the MyFarm On Wheels. A truck fitted with everything we need to set up a mini MyFarm anywhere in the country.

On the truck, you will find: 8 built-in tablets, pre-installed with Leap Leanring's educational universe of apps, a huge collection of lego, tables and chairs for over 50 people, space for every learning material you can think of, soap production materials, and it even has its own solar system and projector for us to show communities educational films.

MyFarm On Wheels is used nearly every day, and we always need people to help coordinate and facilitate our programs.

MyFarm offers a wide variety of training programs, and education curriculums, volunteering on the "wheels" will get you involved in literally everything we do:
1. Skills training
2. Entrepreneurship training
3. Agricultural training
4. Mobile Learning Labs
5. Community outreach and engagement programs
6. Movie nights
7. School visits
8. Environmental education visits

The wide variety of programs MyFarm On Wheels offers does mean that we require the volunteers who run it to have certain skills or traits. Volunteers on the truck are expected to be great with people, outgoing, don't mind roughing it (many trips are overnight), good with kids, and have an ability to be flexible.

Being a MyFarm On Wheels volunteer is the hardest but by far the most fulfilling program we offer!

Experience The Real Africa

Gambia is the smallest country in Africa, that doesn't mean that there is not much going on. Gambia has so much to offer.

Spend time upcountry (rural Gambia) for a true African experience. Upcountry is beautiful and our team know all the tips to make you have the most wonderful time. Highlights include Wassu stone circles, take a boat ride with Gambia's wild hippos or visit the incredible chimpanzee rehabilitation project. Upcountry you will find all sorts of amazing wildlife, including crocodiles, baboons, hippos, red colubus monkeys, hundreds of bird species and much more.

Bird Watching

Gambia is famous for its birds, in face there are over 700 resident species in the country...amazing for such a small place. The thick mangroves forests hugging the coastal and river regions is just the perfect sanctuary, you will get to experience all of this during your stay

Spend Your Weekends In Gambia's Many Eco Lodges

Gambia has so many amazing eco lodges. Most of them are set in thick jungle, use composting toilet and all have their own vegetable gardens. These eco lodges are beautiful places to be and we have great contacts with all of them, many will even offer discounts to Myfarm volunteers so you will get the best deals too. Footsteps eco lodge and Nemasu are particular highlights in the coastal region. At Bintang Bolong lodge you may even be lucky enough to see dolphins more than 60 miles in land.

Other Highlights
  • Kayaking through the mangroves at Tanji
  • Crocodile pool in Bakau
  • Beautiful beaches
  • quad biking through the jungle
  • Bird watching in Gunjur
  • Boat trip to Senegal
