About the program

Thailand, the country of flavors, temples and a very extensive history. As a volunteer it will catch your attention from the first day. With volunteering in Thailand you have the opportunity to live and know closely the reality of many people in this country.

There are many families in Thailand living in poor housing conditions and many of their local community areas and facilities, such as temples, hospitals or schools, are still in need of much improvement.

To address this concern, this program aims for participants to help improve the standard of living of this needy local population by providing support in much-needed construction and renovation work, by creating adequate sanitation facilities, making homes safer places to live and ensuring that communities have greater authority over their own development initiatives.

Participants will be asked to participate in tasks ranging from light work, such as cleaning the area, mixing cement and painting, to harder tasks, such as building the wall (plastering) and repairing the roof. Participants will be instructed and closely supervised by our coordinator, who has extensive experience in construction work to ensure that all processes are safe for them and that the housing conditions are also safe for the local population to live in.

Typical day

A typical volunteer's day begins with breakfast at the lodge with all the volunteers. Volunteers set out to the project (by bus or on foot depending on the assigned area) where they meet with the local coordinator to see what activities are planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned task. There is a stop for lunch and, depending on the needs, the tasks are continued or free time is available.

The volunteer can visit nearby areas in his or her free time. In the evenings, the group has dinner and prepares for the next day.

Free-time activities

Thailand has a diversity of places you can visit. Near the project in Hua Hin you have many places to discover. Your local coordinator will recommend you the best places according to your preferences. In Thailand you can enjoy nature activities, visit temples, water activities, etc.

A beautiful city not to be missed is the city of Chiang Mai, in the north of Thailand. In total contrast to Bangkok, Thailand's capital, Chiang Mai is a smaller city with a huge connection to the environment, providing direct access to the beautiful forested mountains nearby that are a hotspot for adventurers and nature lovers alike. In addition, Chiang Mai boasts traditionally Thai sites that are very intriguing, such as its well-known open-air markets, its historic center filled with centuries-old temples, or the Buddhist temples near the city.

In addition, Chiang Mai could offer you hiking and trekking in the mountains and rice fields, beautiful handicrafts in its markets, night safaris, a lively nightlife that you can enjoy with other volunteers in the Zoe Yellow area, among other things.

During your stay, you could also visit some of Thailand's other beautiful places, such as its beaches or historical sites like Ayutthaya.

Support in the cooperation and creation of social and environmental projects in communities at risk of social exclusion, through international volunteering.

Meet your organization

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.

Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence.

Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
