Teaching and coaching Cricket for underprivileged children in St.Lucia from the local schools and communities around the Castries area. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 17+

Join our teams to help deliver sports sessions to kids. We do this in a number of sports as part of our mass participation programme, bringing as many kids together to have fun but also learn new skills in a structured environment. You will also help us identify kids with particular talent so they can be invited to a school of excellence programme helping them reach their full potential in sport and education.

We also put our kids through school so there are a range of teaching opportunities available in various subjects.

Cricket Coaching

Taking on the position of being a Cricket coach means that you will be running training sessions and matches that are enjoyable, exciting and invigorating for underprivileged children that come from local schools and communities from within the area of Castries.

You will be required to teach how to play Cricket, the skills, the rules and also demonstrate and teach how to work as part of a team. With this trip you will gain knowledge, experience and learn what it is like to coach your very own team and over the time of your stay watch you team improve, develop and grow and enjoy, love and feel passionate about a sport that you have taught them.
The coaching you do in require you to create a unique training and learning programme to work for you and your students. Your coaching will merge working with mass-participation groups at the local schools and community clubs as well as working with higher level clubs and national teams e.g. the Female Cricket teams.
This volunteer project works in partnership with the local schools and because of this, coaching and matches generally are ran in the afternoon as part of an after school club or within the period of time allocated as a game session within the school and its lessons.

The main aim with this project is to bring kids together and give them further opportunities to play in a structured and friendly environment. We also use our coaching sessions to invite kids to our after school programme where we improve education, raise health awareness and build life-skills. Sport for us is a powerful tool to teach kids important messages and we need your help to help us reach our goals.
