“Travel & Make impact” is a project with the slogan of “ embrace the culture of Tanzania while positively impacting local lives” designed to give opportunity to 6 international volunteers  to join with  2 local in country volunteers ( Tanzanians)  to work under FEid Tanzania in the community project that designed to give them opportunity to help local communities in conserving environment- establishing tree nurseries, planting trees raising awareness about personal hygiene, repairing and renovation of two to three classes in selected primary school with poor conditions, delivering conservation knowledge to communities,  travel the country of Tanzania from north ( Arusha) to Zanzibar, experience the culture of local  people ,Maasai, taking safari to number one safari destination in the world “Serengeti” Ngorongoro conservation area and lake Manyara  while bringing positive impact in selected schools and communities.

 

What will be conducted exactly?

The project involves three major things

Volunteers getting education from our partner environment organization about natural resource conservation and delivering to the selected school and community. The conservation education that will be covered here involves the following. Establishment of tree nurseries, transplanting, grafting, seedling, planting trees, taking care of trees from seedling to the tree as a plant and general natural resource conservation education. Soon after getting the education volunteers will depart to the selected schools and community to deliver in action the education that they have acquired.

 

Volunteers getting short time training from health officers about personal hygiene and then they will depart to do delivering to the selected schools and community. This will involve things like teaching about five stages of washing hands, menstrual education to girls, personal hygiene about food washing and taking care of key areas like toilets and keeping environment clean to avoid diseases like   typhoid, diarrhea, malaria and taking more precautions to avoid disease like Covid 19.

Volunteers to be involved in repairing and renovation of selected classrooms and toilets direct in the field. This will involve man power from volunteers in assisting the local fundi in repairing and renovation of selected classes and toilets in schools which have such need.
Traveling and exploring the wildness and new culture in Tanzania. During free time volunteers will get opportunity to travel from Arusha to Zanzibar Ireland for relaxation, during weekends they can explore the wildness of number one world Safari destination of Serengeti and Ngorongoro conservation area without forgetting visiting the local hot spring of chemka around African tallest mountain of Kilimanjaro, learning Maasai and barbaric culture

Typical day

 8:00  Am Breakfast  In volunteer house 

 8 :30 Morning debrief in volunteer house garden

 9:30  Am you will be taken by organization car to the project site ( depends with the plan during morning debrief) 

10:00  Am arriving at the project site 

12: 00 Pm Lunch at the project site 

3 :00 Pm depart from the project site to town 

4:00 Pm refreshment at Themi living garden and free time

Require­ments

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 09:00 - 16:00

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Kilimanjaro. We assist you to find cheap flights to Tanzania.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Tanzania provides security and is a plus to have.
Vaccines
If you are intending to volunteer in Tanzania you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Tanzania.
