Age 18+
Your role will consist of leading or assisting with our volunteer English classes, where possible this will be done together with another volunteer or a local teacher. At present, the general level of English of our learners is basic, and it is important that volunteers are prepared to be teaching students or learners who will more than likely be at a beginner level. Volunteers will work with our English class from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 2 till 4pm every day, but this can sometimes be shortened or extended depending on other activities in the village. Specific tasks include a combination of the activities listed below:
  • Giving English lessons to children .
  • Bringing new ideas to improve the English project.
  • Preparing lesson plans or even a syllabus or study programme for your subject, considering what’s been done in the past and what can be improved now.
  • Guaranteeing that all the materials used during each session are stored and put back into place afterwards.
Our volunteer English School is open most of the year, however it may be closed during Ramadan and over christmas and new year. Do not forget you’ll need some time for planning activities and meetings!
