NEW PROJECT - Help us build a NEW & larger Community through teaching English in Rural VN; exchanging cultures and charity giving with VCV Vietnam. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Singles
Couples
Groups

We at VCV believe that education is fundamental to sustainable development, therefore our aim is to create an open and fair learning environment for all our students. At many schools in Vietnam, students learn a lot of English grammar but rarely learn to correctly engage in real conversation. Especially in outer city areas contact with native speakers in general is limited, especially in a learning environment and even more so in a cultural exchange setting.

The English language is an important and vital part to a young persons education in Vietnam. Language exchange is not just learning English; it can unlock better job prospects, confidence, a broader thinking and interests.

VCV is offering a NEW PROJECT in Hung Yen (near to Hanoi). This new project is located in an outer city region, teaching English in Vietnamese schools to those who are willing, engaged and wanting to learn and exchange cultures. A beautiful environment, good living conditions and plenty of opportunities for both volunteers and students to interact with each other.

We at VCV currently run a center in Hanoi. Every year, hundreds of volunteers join our projects in teaching English and joining outdoor activities to make an unforgettable experience volunteering, cultural exchange, cuisine exploring and undertaking charity activities for homeless citizens. We are proud of the positive impact that we have on enhancing the lives of both the volunteers and the students who learn English with us.

We are welcoming and enjoy helping Volunteers anytime in our volunteer home. Our students will become your tour guide. You will have lots of meaningful time to meet many amazing people, discovering Vietnamese culture, traditions all whilst sampling traditional Vietnamese foods. This will be a great chance for you to integrate into local people’s lives and traditions:

1. Help with teaching English in our non-profit classes in Rural VN schools.

  • Age: Primary & Secondary
  • Class size: 20-50
  • Material: Detailed lesson plans, list of games, whiteboard, flash cards (younger learners).
  • Assistance: Throughout your classes, our Vietnamese-speaking assistant will be on hand to help you explain lesson plans to the children.
  • The students are very nice, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • They have some experience with learning English previously.
  • Our center Supervisors & Other volunteers will always provide assistance as you need!

2.      Help students practicing English with FREE activities in Rural VN & Hanoi.

Besides teaching students inside the class we aim to increase their confidence, conversational abilities and skills in the workplace. This is done by having a cultural exchange between volunteers and students, including kids and adults on Weekends (which are optional for volunteers to attend). We focus on activities such as free talk, picnic, team building, day trip, charity, food tour, monthly meet-up, football, clean-ups, charity events etc. This is a great way to share experiences, explore Vietnam and participate in cultural exchanges through the local people, foods, and customs.  It is also the perfect opportunity if you have any work experiences/skills to share these with the students. They also are happy to share with your local culture & their own experiences.

Typical day

VCV volunteers work no more than 5 classroom hours per day. Class room hours in Rural VN are varied depending on the schools schedule but we ensure there is plenty of rest time and opportunities for exploring around the scheduled times.

Typically VCV Rural VN volunteers have 2 days off per week.  We also host optional outings and events at weekends; encouraging casual conversation and friendships. In your spare time, you can explore the city and surroundings, including Hanoi.

Hung Yen:
Situated just out of  the city there is easy access to Hanoi. A FREE bus service and plenty of opportunities to go and explore Hanoi city. Nearby our VCV Hung Yen center there are; local & western coffee shops & restaurants, gyms, fitness classes, outdoor activities, parks and swimming pools.
