Join us in Tenerife on our Marine Conservation Expedition with our conservation guides and instructors. You will experience five days with daily lectures (seagrass monitoring, elasmobranch survey, fish ID and more) and daily dives, where you can put into practice the knowledge previously learned through underwater monitoring techniques. This expedition is for experienced and non-experienced divers alike. You will be hosted at our facility called the Marine Conservation and Education Center (MCEC).
This is a perfect opportunity for people that loves diving and take care of the environment..
At the end of the expedition, not only you will receive a certification in Marine Conservation, you will also take with you 5 days of adventures, new knowledge, laughter and new friends.

Typical day
Expidicionarios will be ready for the lecture at 9:00 am, after breakfast.
Each day a different topic will be taught with the different underwater sampling techniques.
After the lecture, we prepare for the dive, where we will put into practice the knowledge we have learned.
The dives are shore and boat dives, and the order may change depending on weather conditions.
After the dive, we take a break for lunch. We finish the expedition day with a debriefing and clarifying doubts (around 17:00pm).
The rest of the day, the expedition members can use their free time to go to the beach, snorkeling, visit nearby villages or any other activity.

The island of Tenerife enjoys an exceptional geographical situation. Located off the coast of Morocco, The Canary Islands have a sunny
climate and a pleasant temperature throughout the year, even in the summer, thanks to the trade winds.
Tenerife is also a unique place to dive, its amazing rock formations create a very typical volcanic topography which is home to an extraordinary
underwater life. Many mammals such as whales, killer whales and dolphins can be found in the Canarian waters. Other marine species inhabit these waters; turtles, angel sharks, hammerhead sharks, sting rays, devil rays, groupers, barracudas and nudibranchs.

Requirements
In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.
You need to speak English (intermediate level)
No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
SCUBA Diving License (min OWD)
Regular working hours are hardly predicable. It mainly depends on the work force. Get in touch with Innoceana straight ahead to get more infos about current to dos and objectives.
What's Included
Accommodation with kitchen, diving equipment, marine conservation equipment and materials, 5 boat and shore dives with marine conservation guide, buoyancy workshop, coffee and fruit, certification upon completion of the expedition.
You'll be staying in our spacious 3 bedrooms house along with the rest of expeditionners and interns or staff, depending on the season.
You will have a shared bedroom and access to the kitchen if you want to cook for yourself for dinner. We usually eat out for lunch (bar or homemade picnic!). There's wifi in the house too.
Accomodation is included from day 0 evening until day 5 midday.
Good access at the project site
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either.
Food, snacks or beverages are at extra costs.
The nearest airport is Tenerife South Airport (TFS) in Tenerife. We assist you to find cheap flights to Spain.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Spain provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Spain you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Spain.

On September 19th you can do the check-in, till midday ish. Same day we will have the expedition presentation.
We start with the lectures and dives the next day (20th) till the 24th.
Accomodation is incluided from the 19th till the 24th. If you need extra days for flights conexions, ask us for price.
