Helping the logistics of foodbank means being part of a larger project of social and laboural inclusion and fighting poverty by empowering education. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 16+
Singles
Couples
Families

Wheel Chairs
Our purpose is community construction through art and human diversity. We involve the residents of the Turó de la Peira neighborhood in volunteer activities to develop a sense of belonging to their neighborhood. We help vulnerable people to increase their self-confidence through volunteering and civic engagement. We support the accommodation of refugees. We help immigrants integrate. We encourage collaboration between entities.

Collecting food for the food bank works with accounting rigor. From harvest to field (supporting farmers local) and/or donations from supermarkets and/or purchases from local producers and distributors, each product is accounted for. Every week we distribute food baskets to an average of 40 families. In exchange, we ask you to commit to doing a few hours of volunteering for the community and/or to commit to our social and labor insertion program. The food bank is part of a bigger project of sociolaboral insertion of vulnerable people.

The mission of volunteers depends a lot on:
  • What you like to do
  • Your previous experience or skills
  • Your Spanish level
  • The duration of your stay
  • The internal NGO trainings you attended...
The volunteers can be involved into different mission and tasks :
  • Food logistics
  • Admin of the food bank
  • Interviewing/coaching people we attend
  • Support communication by directing a documental or taking some nice pics
  • Fundraising
  • Taking care of kids while their mums are working or studying
  • Cooking food for homeless people...
Volunteers will also be expected to support community life by cleaning their rooms, bathrooms etc...

The greatest wealth that the participants receive is a unique community experience that is lived through leadership and collective intelligence! The committed volunteers represent the operational heartbeat of the entity and have operational leadership in it. They are also regularly consulted and involved for their strategic leadership and their vision of the future at an individual and collective level.

Inclusion will make you rich; the diversity of ideas around you, the proximity to various life experiences, the warmth of different emotions. It is true that you need this to improve, but do not become a tourist of life. A humble neighborhood that fights together to bring food to all its children is enriched; who fights against all odds to fulfill a vision that he considers good, who faces the difficulties of everyday life to improve the life of his family.
