Santacruz is a marked and divided city between the tourist population and rural communities in Guanacaste, which do not receive any help from the resources of the tourist industry.

One of the many needs of this town is to strengthen the education of children and young people from low-income families who attend small local schools, that do not have the materials or resources to receive a proper education.

We work with a school located in a rural town  10 minutes away from Santa cruz dowtown.  The school  is Unidocente, which is coordinated by only one teacher who is also the principal and she is in charge of 26 students. All kids are learning in the same classroom, while  they   are in different learning levels and ages (from the 1st to 6th grade). our volunteer program goal is to create didactic materiasl, art projects, educational games, and enviromental activities to improve the chidren's education

The students do not receive  music class, art, physical education and english class . This is the reason why we are trying to reinforce those subjects with the help of volunteers.

Through this volunteer program participants help in the learning process of these children. It is also a way to integrate with the culture, practice the language and obtain personal enrichment through coexistence with another culture.

How can you help?
