Set in the incredible scenery of the Kaen Krachan National Park you will have the chance to experience the authentic Karen Hill tribe, whilst teaching English! This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
This is an incredible opportunity to gain a real insight into the traditional way of living. You will be staying up in the hills of the tribe community and will get the chance to experience their way of living and their ancient traditions. 

You will be teaching at a Karen Hill Tribe School, teaching English and other subjects to the local children. Teaching is informal and you are free to be as creative as you like! You can also get involved in other projects around the school, such as construction and renovation, keeping the school a nice environment for the children.

You can also get involved in after school activities or events in the community. This a true cultural immersion experience, set amongst the most stunning scenery. You will have the opportunity to swim in a nearby waterfall and take part in crafts and other traditions in the village. 

Typical day

Volunteering is for 4-6 hours per day


  • If this is your first week, you will be transferred directly from Bangkok to Hua Hin upon arrival
  • Stay overnight at Hua Hin accommodation.

*This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances

**From mid-March to mid-May and the month of October, schools are closed. During these months you will volunteer at English camps in Hua Hin.

Free-time activities

Weekends are always free for relaxing or sightseeing of your choice. Our local team will help you organize additional trips with special (non tourist) rates which can be paid directly in local currency. As a volunteer in Thailand you will gain access to local knowledge, opportunities and value you simply would not find if staying as a standard tourist in resorts.

Kaeng Krachan National Park is perfect for outdoor lovers. With an abudance of wildlife,  beautiful scenery, flora and fauna, stunning mountains, beautiful waterfalls, lakes and afull of culture! You will also be able to explore the nearby beach town of Hua Hin.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Pickup Time(s)
Book to land between early morning and 16:00 to have pickup & accom included. An extra night is charged if arriving Saturday.
You will stay in dedicated volunteer accomodation within the hill tribe community in Kaeng Krachan National Park, for a real cultural immersion experience. You will be living amongst some stunning biodiversity and mountain scenery, including lakes, waterfalls and the jungle. Rooms are single gender and shared between around 2 to 4 people per room. The showers are only cold water, but you will have a western toilet. Facilities are basic but comfortable. Wifi is not available but you can purchase a local SIM for data. 
Dorm Room
Food & Beverages

While we do our best to accommodate volunteers specific needs, the food will mostly be local. If you are a picky eater, have dietary restrictions, you can buy western style foods and snacks from Hua Hin or from the local supermarket. You can use our bikes to ride to a few convenience stores nearby.

Please keep in mind that refrigerator space is limited and to prevent insect infestation open food items are not allowed in the rooms.

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok. We assist you to find cheap flights to Thailand.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Thailand provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Thailand you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Thailand.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Involvement Volunteers IVI during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
