Participants will be picked up by a representative of our organization and/or partner organization whose project they will be volunteering in.
Participants will live with a local host family. The accommodation may vary from one family to another, but below are the requirements:
1. Clean and healthy. Exposed to enough sunlight and not damp. Room is not dirty (swept clean upon arrival) and not within proximity of a waste disposal area. Room must be cleaned daily & bed sheets must be changed weekly.
2. Consists of 1 single bed. Bed includes mattress, pillow (with sheets and covers), and clean blanket.
3. Equipped with a wardrobe, writing desk, and a fan.
4. Modest bathroom. Squatting toilet is acceptable, but seated toilet is a plus. Hygiene is prioritized; clean and smooth water flow, is not mossy, and has good water disposal.
Meals (breakfast and dinner) will be provided by the host family. Lunch during weekdays will be at the project site where usually people bring lunch from home or buy from food stalls/restaurants around the office area. Price is relatively affordable starting from USD 2 - USD 3 per meal. A typical Indonesian meal consists of steamed rice and one or two main dishes made of fish, meat, chicken or vegetables.
