For the last 5 years, we have been initiating a small NGO project (Lovely Nepal) in order to support our local communities who suffered after the earthquake. The first part of this project will occur between 8th and 22nd April but it will continue during the following months.
Every day will be a bit different. For the project in April it will look like that:
8th April: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to the hotel;
9th April: Shopping of school supplies and library room in Kathmandu as well as sightseeing. Stay overnight at the hotel;
10th April: Morning shopping for the project, then in the afternoon drive to the camp;
11th April: Visiting the village where last year we provided dust bins. Checking and working on the progress of the rubbish collection;
12th April: Start of the 3 days main Lovely Nepal program: Trekking to Jonougau village, where we will help;
13th April: Main program at the local school;
14th April: After the morning support and clothes distribution, we trek back to the camp;
15th April: Morning departure to the Buddha Gandaki rafting (3 nights, 2 days) starting point (approx. 5h drive). During that day we will be passing through the beautiful traditional Nepalese villages. The starting point is in Arhet which is very close to the Tibetan border and you will see the view of Mt. Manasalu (the 8th highest peak in the world);
16th April: Full day rafting. uring the day you will experience amazing landscapes, big rapids. We will end up the day at the self-built riverside camp far from any houses.
We will cook our meals and relax next to the campfire;
17th April: Half day rafting with the ending point at the camp. Barbecue night at our camp.
18th April: Hiking to the local school where we helped last year and checking the use of supplies as well on the status of the painted school.
19th April: Walking back to the camp
20th April: Departure to Kathmandu
21st April: Free time in Kathmandu
22nd April: Departure to the onward destination
During the free time, you will have a chance to do sightseeing, hiking/ trekking and be part of our rafting/ kayaking expedition.
Airport pickup and airport dropoff are included in the fees.
Accommodation during the stay will be provided as follow:
Food and drinks (non-alcoholic) will be only provided during the stay in the village. During a stay in Kathmandu food and drinks is excluded.
The main part of the project will start on 8th April and will finish on 22nd April.
Local community and school support
Like every year we want to give back something to communities that are not so fortunate as ours. We will support local schools by providing the needed supplies.
