  • The 30 days internship includes 2 PADI dive certifications focused on marine conservation (Open water, Advanced or Rescue) or a Dive specialities (E.g. Deep speciality, Digital Underwater Photography speciality).

You will be trained and certified Coral propagator. Your internship will include Knowledge reviews, water analysis, monitoring nurseries and more. 

  • The 45 days internship is dedicated to divers willing to do their Dive Master Training (DMT) with us. Your DMT will be oriented on marine conservation and coral propagation.

Both options include dive equipments/fees, transportation, training materials, 3 meals a day/Snacks and 1 bed accommodation in our dorm.

Typical day

We are a friendly small NGO! We adapt and we are flexible depending on our guests skills, desires and experience.

We start typically our day around 9am, depending on the day's agenda, we can spend the morning at the COF house to teach you the theoretical aspects of diving, freediving or Coral propagation.

We then gather for lunch that would be on the boat or at the house.

The afternoon will be dedicated to more learning or being in the water for skills training or coral propagation.

The day ends around 4pm. You are free to study or do some sightseeing then.

Dinner is served around 6:30pm.

Don't forget ! Each day will be special, our focus will be to help you improve you diving or freediving skills and educate you about corals and marine conservation.

You will be for a long period with us and will be part of our team, you'll get to know us better and help develop our NGO !
You'll also help us organize and develop our projects and you'll get involved with Local communities.

Free-time activities

On your freetime, you can rent a scooter and explore the island of Bohol. 

Not far from Panglao there is a Tarsier Sanctuary and next to it a nice forest where you can go for a hike.

There are other close island that you can visit on your freetime as well (or before or after your internship with us). Camiguin Island, Negros Island, Siquijor Island are all couple of hours ferry trip away and can be great to explore.

If you are a cave lover, there is a close by Cave called Hinagdanan Cave. You can take your headlamp, your mask and snorkel and go for some exciting exploration.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 14 years old on the program start date.
Language Skills
You need to speak English (basic level)

No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 09:00 - 16:00

What's Included

Services by Coral Ocean Farmers

The fees are used to buy the PADI PICS for the different certifications.

It is also used to train for free locals and educate them about our work in the Philippines.

Accommodation

You will be staying with us at COF house. You'll get a bed in a 6 beds dorm.

ALL 3 meals will be provided plus fruits and snacks at the house or on the boat.

We usually have breakfast at the house before starting the day. Lunch is provided by our local partner restaurant.
Dinner is prepared at the house with the team.

We take into account any food restrictions or allergies and confirm with you before your arrival.

Good access at the project site
What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees. An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Tagbita (TGB) in Tagbita. We assist you to find cheap flights to Philippines.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Philippines provides security and is a plus to have.
Vaccines
If you are intending to volunteer in Philippines you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Philippines.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Coral Ocean Farmers during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
