Accommodation

You will stay in one of our unique & cozy hand-crafted Tipi's. Our Tipi's have been built to keep the warmth in during winter and allow the cool breeze in during summer. Each of our Tipi's has a fitted fire-place as well as heaters and heated blankets to make sure you have a comfortable stay.

Our Tipi's are large, the footprint of each Tipi measures approx. 30m2 (6m diameter). One Tipi accommodates 2 people, so there is plenty of space for you and all your personal effects. The height of the Tipi's measure 6m, so you’ll be able to comfortably walk around inside. It's a incredibly unique experience to live in a Tipi and can’t be compared with camping at all!

Toilets and showers are only a few meters walk away from your Tipi. Each Tipi has its own shower, basin and toilet facility.

Dogs will be allowed (and encouraged) inside your Tipi in the evening. So pick a favorite and cuddle them throughout the night!

Typical day

Each day is different on our Animal Rescue Farm and activities also depend on weather conditions. There is always so much to do that you simply can not fit it all in one day, but that is how we guarantee you will never be bored and your heart will always be full!

Breakfast will be available from 7-8am, work for our volunteers starts at around 8am from Monday to Friday. Lunch will be ready around 12/12:30 and dinner after 5pm. All meals and food options will be vegan/ vegetarian, home cooked and will hopefully be an inspiration for your diet back home. We put lots of love, time and local ingredients into each meal to make it as “lekker” as possible for you! We have wrap, pasta, curry, pizza, burger, traditional african and many more theme days to make your meals fun and interesting.

Saturday and Sunday are for exploring Hogsback and the surrounding area or simply relaxing on the farm doing whatever your heart desires.

Daily walks and hikes are very important for our dogs Depending on the weather, there will be multiple guided walks and hikes every day. Some days are for our education programs, other days we drive out into the villages and help locals and rescue animals, other days we will have to assist our vet.
