Being the education a primary need, having teachers that guide the classes is imperative to help the children have support when they attend the sessions.

In a region where 20% of the public school students do not continue education beyond the age of 10, it is critical that learning become stimulating and engaging, that has been the root of success of GLIFOS

We always need a main teacher that guides the course and the interactions, between the foreigners (other volunteers) and the local children. As a main teacher you will execute a personal programs and projects based on your personal skills and preference, for instance, if your specialty is music, you can help kids learn about guitar, flute, etc.

Classes are one or two months long and offered all year long (depending of the program that our volunteers develop) out volunteers need to be at least 20 years old to apply fot his position. Our school schedule gives the children of Ometepe Island opportunities to continue their English and arts education for the entire year or break it into on or two-month blocks that they can combine annually with their normal study hours and helping their family at home and/or on family farming plots.
