You will get to know lovely people and children in the Township Motherwell, work together with them and with us and help us to develop the Township and grow our projects. Your main task during the projects will be the documentation via photo and video. PR and admin assistance and initiatives are encouraged.

Us and the volunteers work closely together with the locals of the township Motherwell, who want to improve life in the township and ensure a better future for their children:

  • we go surfing with kids from underprivileged communities
  • we organize afterschool activities like sports, arts, planting, practising English, playing games and environmental activities
  • we do art and music projects with township children
  •  we help out at a child first soup kitchen run by Nwabisa, the 'Mama' of the neighbourhood
  •  we do art with the kids at the Hand in Hand Art Studio and Art Academy run by the two artists Sakumzi and Coco
  •  we beautify the area together with the locals
  •  we do the 'Flowers for Africa' project, where kids paint huge flowers on the walls of their shacks
  •  we organize events with music and dance performances in our artistic park.

Typical day

The volunteers are accommodated in a nice guesthouse and are working 6 hours daily from Monday to Friday.

You help us with organization tasks, marketing and sponsoring in the morning.

At the moment we are focusing on a beautiful documentary film about our projects. You are welcome to help us wto edit short video clips of our project. In addition to this you use your video and photo skills to make Social Media posts, write blog articles for our website and to update donors.

Around 2 or 3 pm you go to the township Upliftment Projects.

Your main responsibility will be to do photos and videos during our projects, but there will also be some time to play with kids, do art, games and sports activities with them. A few times per week some of our volunteers can join our Surf lessons with the kids.

Around 5 pm you go back to your lovely accommodation and enjoy the amazing vibe together with other volunteers and project facilitators.

You will be staying either at a homestay with a nice swimming pool or at the riverfront accommodation with a great vibe and fun activities like stand up paddling, windsurfing, fishing and sailing on your doorstep. Both accommodations have a lovely veggie garden where  you can relax, swim and sunbath.  In the evenings we have relaxed get-togethers on the terrass, where we play the guitar, sit at the fire and have dinners together.
