1. Your induction and orientation
On your first day, you will receive a comprehensive induction to your new town. A staff member will take you on a tour of the surrounding area, and point out places that might be useful to you. You will also be taken to buy a local sim card or exchange money if you need to.

Volunteer work is in the morning hours every day, in the afternoon, we have free activities such as sports, Kenya traditional dance classes, traditional cooking classes, and sports. Weekends are made for exploring our country and Safaris with our local volunteers and your fellow overseas volunteers.

There are a couple of things to bear in mind when packing clothes for Kenya. The first is the weather - it can vary quite a lot, so it is best to plan for hot sun and pouring rain. 1. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR OPERATING DURING COVID-19
UCESCO is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our volunteers and at the project sites during this time of threat of the Coronavirus. The health and safety of our volunteers and the communities we are serving are of the utmost concern. Volunteer rooms are sparkling clean, spotless, and fresh always. Towels, sheets, floors, and bathroom are hygienic because of through cleaned, with a so-clean-you-could-eat-off-it level of care. Each Volunteer needs to get vaccinated of COVID-19 before departure to Kenya or acquire a Negative COVID-19 PCR test Certificate that is valid for 96 hours from the date of the test before departure, to present on your arrival at the immigration office and UCESCO project site office. Help us to prevent the Covid-19 virus by playing your part too of wearing your mask always and practice social distancing in common areas, wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds, and always walk with hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to sanitize yourself always.
