Responsible for day-to-day implementation and planning of activities coordinating and supervising trainers and volunteers. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:

  • Make a difference in people’s lives, bringing about social change

  • Help to deliver office support and assist with administrative tasks 
  • Help to develop and write project proposals, write grant proposals, help in fundraising, sensitizing the community about health and sanitation. 
  • Help to establish, design and implement resource mobilization plans to generate support and income for priorities of Empower and Care Organization (EACO) projects with support from the resource mobilization office.


Train community members in water and sanitation also to help on fundraising so that we repair the collapsed boreholes which are no longer in use and this is going to help children to have more time for school and women to have enough time to concentrate on their Income Generating Activities.
Besides that they will also help to write the project proposals and reports to be submitted to the Donors and sponsors. rs will also help to train schools on hygiene and sanitation by. visiting the schools toilets and show them on how to clean them.

Typical day

Volunteers can work from 8:30 to 4:30, early in the morning you get to the office and after breakfast you get to the field with the staff and you are supposed to have lunch from the field and after you came back

Free-time activities

Over thee weekends we can organize and visit some of the tourist places, this will be at your own expense and can include: Source of the Nile in Jinja, Water falls, Game parks and others.There are many other tourism opportunities in Uganda.
We recommend you to have some extra weekly budget for your other expenses such as bottled water, personal items, beverages, and entertainment.

Water Sports


In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.

Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:30 - 16:30

What's Included

Services by Empower and Care Organization

• Airport pick up and drop off at Entebbe Airport
• Accommodation: in Mukono, EACO can arrange for volunteers to stay with a local family or in a guest house. In Maracha the volunteer must stay with the project co-ordinator in the area.
• Food: 3 meals per day

Airport Pickup at Entebbe International Airport

We provide airport pick up to and from the airport as well as to the project sites.


Accommodation at EACO is simple but comfortable. We can accommodate more than ten persons at any given time. You can also decide to share with some Families of the Caretakers or in a guest house. Volunteers have their own room which is secured with a door lock. Two volunteers can share a room but each one must have his/her own bed. Our guest-house has western (flushing toilet). There is electricity and a generator is available for use when electricity fails to work.

Volunteers are provided with 3 meals per day and that is Breakfast, lunch and Supper. Water is also provided with some fruits.

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Entebbe. We assist you to find cheap flights to Uganda.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Uganda provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Uganda you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Uganda.

We always send in the card baring your names with the pas code and the driver or any staff holds it up at the departure  after then we take you to have a rest either in a guest house or straight away to the host family then the following day we bring you to the office for orientation,

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Empower and Care Organization during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
