Highlights

Improve children’s English education in China
Create engaging and meaningful interactions with disadvantaged students in China.
Help children increase their skills, interest and confidence in English to optimise their access to a higher level of education and better work opportunities in the future.
Volunteers will teach English through the internet to left-behind and rural children in rural China between the ages of 7 and 18. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Singles
Couples
Groups
50+

The program provides regular online English lessons to rural and left-behind students in China. Each student attend at least a 12 lessons and are encouraged to enroll in a longer program. The lessons are delivered through a online teaching platform by volunteers based all over the world. All volunteers receive training and support from Stepping Stones. We ensure that volunteers are supported with updated and well-tested teaching materials and regular guidance.

The program is named School Videolink Program, which consists of volunteers teaching online to 12-40 students located in a school classroom or local community center.

The original and interactive teaching materials make the lessons more personalized and easier for volunteers to teach. Our impact evaluations suggest that the program has a positive impact on students' confidence, motivation and skills in English,  especially on their confidence to speak English in class and to increase their English grades.
