Online Volunteering programs are the perfect opportunity for those who are interested in helping to the institutions with their skills.
This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
In Split, many organizations have limited resources which can be limiting for their action. They must be creative and go out of their ways to get some financial support and collect money that they will use to achieve the main goals of their social and environmental work. Now they need more help than ever to support their everyday operations and to expand. Sales and fundraising play a crucial role in the long-term survival of the non- profit. Fundraising has changed in recent years and has also become multi-channel, using online techniques, direct mail, email, social media, and crowdfunding to create that basket of income from multiple sources. As an online fundraiser, you will be helping raise vital funds by organizing online sales of goods, using social media to encourage donations and any other innovative ways to raise funds. Other tasks may include identify and approach potential sponsors, design/write fundraising communications, updating donors’ databases, planning and coordinating fundraising activities etc. Non-profit organizations all around the world are struggling with everyday tasks like supporting their beneficiaries to make their lives easier or running projects. And with so many daily tasks in hands, it is hard for them to find time to deal with problems like website development
or computer programming. As these organizations have limited resources, it is difficult for them to hire an expert person to do it for them. Organizations need a person that is willing to give their time and skills and creative minds to help them deal with this issue. When it comes to website development your tasks will be to create a website for the organizations which allow them to inform the public about their work and actions. Although you will receive some guidelines, you should also use your imagination and skills. So, if your passion is computers and technology and you are very skilled when it comes to transforming an idea from a hypothesis to a usable product, then this is a project for you.
After the initial Monday orientation day and Tuesday onboarding form the organization
(which happen only in the first week), you will be able to organize your work depending on
your preferences and on the arrangements done with the project. Additionally, to the project-
related work, ImpacTrip will propose some training activities on soft skills and other group dynamics about culture, language, geography, etc. A typical schedule is as follows: the local staff leads a virtual interactive session that includes some ice-breaker activities and a presentation that covers a lot of useful information including a general introduction to the country its culture, the volunteer experience (setting expectations), an overview of our programs and to the volunteer’s program in general. The volunteer introduces his/her goals and expectations.
The organization does the onboarding and presents its work, mission, beneficiaries, contextualization of the social/environmental reality, your role, tasks and proposed calendar.
Because it is an online course, volunteers will shape their schedule by themselves.
