Run energizing and fun Rugby coaching sessions for children from the schools located in the areas of Teshie and Labadi in Eastern Accra, Ghana. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 17+
Join our teams to help deliver sports sessions to kids. We do this in a number of sports as part of our mass participation programme, bringing as many kids together to have fun but also learn new skills in a structured environment. You will also help us identify kids with particular talent so they can be invited to a school of excellence programme helping them reach their full potential in sport and education.

We also put our kids through school so there are a range of teaching opportunities available in various subjects.

Rugby Coaching
Your role will be a Rugby coach for the children from the schools located within Teshie and Labadi in Eastern Accra. This means that you will be responsible for all the training sessions and matches and making sure that they are energising and fun for the children to take part in. You will get to experience, first hand, what it is like to coach a team of your own and what it is like to help and volunteer with the children and to make such a difference in their lives, no matter how long your stay is and over the period of your stay, watch the team grow, develop and improve and become very passionate and enthusiastic play the game that you love. You will be expected to teach how to play and the rules of rugby, the techniques and also how to work as part of a team and based on that create your own coaching programme that works for you and your team.

Possible Tasks
All volunteers with get the opportunity, in the mornings, to assist with another volunteer project also running in the local area doing things and help contributing to projects such as child care, one-to-one teaching at a children’s centre for the underprivileged children in the area and also teaching in the local schools.

Other Options in Ghana
It is likely that there will be a whole variety of other activities you can get involved with while you are away. Because we have focused in-country teams, they will be able to inform you of other opportunities both inside and outside the capital. This gives you a unique chance to combine projects and experience the country in a whole variety of ways.

The main aim with this project is to bring kids together and give them further opportunities to play in a structured and friendly environment. We also use our coaching sessions to invite kids to our after school programme where we improve education, raise health awareness and build life-skills. Sport for us is a powerful tool to teach kids important messages and we need your help to help us reach our goals.

Free-time activities

There are many things to do in Ghana from visiting waterfalls, to experience their wildlife at Mole National Park to socialising with the locals at some great beach parties. Our team will make sure you experience Ghana to it's full and guide you in seeing the best parts this amazing country has to offer.
