Volunteer Opportunity Awaits is a charity organization that was set up Kateregga Jethro who is a teacher by profession.

His aim in starting Volunteer Opportunity Awaits was to help the unprivileged children, orphaned children and youths have a home-like environment rather than an orphanage home to help them have access to better Education, Medication care, parental love and care, small interest-free loans, hands on skills, guidance and counseling and so many more.

Volunteers can always be involved in our various projects we have as a teacher, counselor and so many more skills that the volunteers may have that some of our volunteer program include;

  • Clean and Safe Drinking Water Program
Clean and Safe Drinking Water is one of the basic needs of Life every human being should have access to.

Did you know that in Uganda very many communities don’t have access to Clean and Safe Drinking water these results into sharing of the safe water with Animals, consumption of dirty water which in the end lead to the spread of a number of diseases such as Diarrhea, Typhoid, Cholera and so many more that are as a result of improper Hygiene.

Another cause of these diseases is that the animals usually make it more difficult since they put their waste in the water and it’s on the other hand consumed by the community.

In the same view these dirty water sources at very far that implies that children have to walk a long way to draw water and at imes face different dangers on the way.

As an organization that looks as the proper growth of children, this is greatly heart touching and go ahead to ensure this is tackled by digging of boreholes, and piped water so that communities can have access to the water sources with ease.

While traveling to Uganda to volunteer, a volunteer is advised to bring some light and thick clothes for hot and relatively cold season that may happen both in the same day. Well as mosquito repellents for the case of camping.

We need committed volunteers because our volunteers a times work from remote areas and a times suburbs so those areas may a times need someone who is committed to help.

While at the Foundation volunteers shall be staying at the Director's residence that is 24 kilometers from Kampala along Nakasongola highway and will be helped by the volunteer coordinator all time long at the foundation.

Volunteers while coming need to come with light clothes, some sweaters for the rainy season and mosquito repellents for camping since in Uganda our climate is Equatorial it can rain and shine in the same day.

As the Foundation we can provide volunteers with free accommodation, volunteering experience, African life exposure and so many more.

On the volunteer's leave they are awarded an Appreciation certificate.
