As the Sales & E-commerce Coordinator you will be responsible for carrying out planning, management and coordination activities to maximize sales, setting goals aligned with Intiwawa's objectives. In this regard, you will be responsible for designing and executing the sales strategies for our Madres Luchadoras project. You will report to the General Manager, the Coordinator and the Project Leader with the objective of increasing
the sales of Intiwawa's products.

Responsibilities
Sales:
  • Create and execute a sales plan both online and with European & American partners and distributors
  • Keep up-to-date inventory control (stock of finished products).
  • Coordinate with the project coordinator and leader to establish goals and innovative sales strategies for new products.
  • Define and implement Sales policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Textile Project Leader and trainer in picking-up and inspecting products, as well as maintaining quality control standards on incoming products.
  • Receive and process sales orders, contact customers to answer questions and send order confirmations.
Business development:
  • Research online sales opportunities for Intiwawa’s products.
  • Find local stores, boutiques, hotels, fairs and markets to sell Intiwawa’s products.
  • Research and initiate product collaborations with local organizations/companies.
  • Work closely with the fundraising coordinator to develop products to run with campaigns.
  • Manage Intiwawa’s e-shop, in coordination with the marketing team and finance coordinator.
  • Research ways to find more traffic to Intiwawa’s e-shop.
Requirements
  • Excellent English and Spanish skills, written and spoken
  • Previous experience in sales and ecommerce
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills.
  • High level of initiative, leadership and confidence
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multicultural/collaborative environment
  • Minimum 6 months commitment

  • The position is voluntary (unpaid) and part-time (around 20 hours/week)

Typical day

It is really difficult to describe a typical day of the Sales and E-Commerce Coordinator. As already mentioned before, the schedule is flexible and unconventional. Parts of the work have to be done online, for example the research of new sales opportunities for our products. Other parts are onsite in the project, for example inspecting the products to be sold, together with the Textile Project Leader. 

Here is an example how a day could be: 

8AM: start with your work remotly, update the Intiwawa Shop with the products of the knitting project (Madres Luchadoras), search for new online possibilities to sale our products

10AM: Meeting with several members of the Comité Peru to plan a new fundraising event, where Sales are also very important

1PM: register the new products of Madres Luchadoras

3PM: meet with the Marketing Coordinator and some Volunteers, make some fotos with the new products for the advertisement in the shop

Arequipa is one of the most largest cities of Peru and provides a wide range of possibilities for your free time activities! Sports, as well as cultural events and sightseeing are only some examples. You can also use your free time to travel and get to know the country a little better.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

You need to speak English (intermediate level) or Spanish (intermediate level)

Good access at the project site
What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees. An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either. Please arrange your own accommodation. Food, snacks or beverages are at extra costs.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Rodriguez Ballon International Airport (AQP) in Arequipa. We assist you to find cheap flights to Peru.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Peru provides security and is a plus to have.
Vaccines
If you are intending to volunteer in Peru you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Peru.

Dates & Fees

Details on arrival

We are searching for a Sales and E-Commerce Coordinator to be onsite in Peru as soon as possible. We do not have any specific arrival days, the arrival date will be coordinated individually together with the Volunteer Coordinator and the General Director. 

As we do not charge a fee, we also do not provide free acommodation. But what we provide is the offer to have a long-term stay in a hostel where Intiwawa#s volunteers get discounts. So, low-cost housing is availible.
