About the program

Volunteers play an integral role in achieving the goals of this project. Speaking English and other languages like French and German are getting more and more important due to rising tourist numbers.

Your job is going to be as a consultant for the English teachers in the schools: You are going to support them in their subject and if you are very confident with the language and you show dedication, you can also support other teachers in several different subjects. Create small exercises for your students, make them smile while they're learning and think of appreciation in the children’s eyes.
You will assist a local teacher during the day at the class and will learn with small groups in the afternoon (1-3 times a week) a second language if you are a native speaker in English, German or French. Volunteers are needed from around the world. As long as you have a good English level, we are very happy to get your support for the kids!

Don´t travel just like a tourst!

History:

Jamso Trainee startet in December 2012 helping in communities in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is since now the county with the most interns, volunteers and travelers.

Since 2013 Jamso Trainee started working with partners in Ecuador, Peru, South Afrika.

2015 we begin working with our partner Bali and Thailand.

Visiting projects and getting more relationshsips with local charities is a goal of each year. Jamso Trainee don´t increase too fast, because for us it is very important to hold long contacts and stay in a good communication with volunteers and projects.

I stayed one month in Puerto Escondido, from mid-May to mid-June. If I had known, I would have stayed longer and arrived earlier because in Oaxaca, the rain season starts in May, and I didn't know. I really liked working at the school. There are around 120 kids, and they are around 15 per class. ..
I loved my time in Santa Barbara in this program. The work was delightful and fulfilling, but it was a private (and bilingual) school, and the children I was teaching weren't the ones who would've needed it the most, I would say. That being said, I feel that I made a significant change and that my ...
