Poverty is so common in East Africa. Many children become orphans due to AIDS, marriage separation, family neglect, child neglect. With your involvement in our Foundation as a volunteer, you will help us give care and education to a poor child. Our charity organization is very effective in terms of providing help.  We believe that the only way to eradicate poverty is through a holistic education and grooming the new generation to fight corruption and illiteracy.

THE SUNNYSIDE FOUNDATION began in April 2015 in a bid to intervene for the sexually abused youth, single teenage mothers and poverty-stricken families in Uganda. It was so clear that there was a gap to be bridged, and so by the end of 2016THE SUNNYSIDE FOUNDATION was established as a registered full-fledged non-profit association with registered NGO Bureau on Registration number 182938.

With the support from her founders and volunteers THE SUNNYSIDE FOUNDATION has for the last 3 years, been able to support children in in the various Districts of Uganda such as; Kampala, Wakiso, Luwero and Kamuli, to attain better and subsidized educational services. The Foundation has been able to establish education centres (schools) through which children from disadvantaged and vulnerable families access better nutrition, educational assistance, skills training, and other services tailored to their specific needs.

Today, THE SUNNYSIDE FOUNDATION programs promote long-term sustainable development and are designed to help break the vicious cycle of poverty – the first of the Millennium Development Goals. With Volunteer support, we provide communities with the information, opportunities and resources to allow children under our care grow in a healthy and productive manner

There is quite a big number of disadvantaged children in East Africa. Many children become orphans due to AIDS, separation of parents, family disintegration, and child neglect. Your involvement with our Foundation as a volunteer will help us give a quality and affordable childcare and education to the poor. Our charity organization is very effective in terms of providing help.  We believe that one of the most effective ways to eradicate poverty is through education and raising a new generation with integrity, free of corruption and illiteracy.

The main objective of The Sunny Side Foundation is to help the unprivileged children, youth and single mother in Uganda by providing them with basic needs of life such as Food, Shelter, Education, Medication, Parental love and care. In doing so the Organization decided to start up a school for the vulnerable children and youth and named it Sunny Side of Life as a project to in which the foundation can extend education to its beneficiaries. Currently Sunny Side of Life caters for about 70 children and youths that reside at the Organization premises and still has about 103 children and youth that needs the Organization's support but the Organization has limited funds to support them all.

The main challenges faced by the Organization include limited man-power the Organization's activities run at a very slow pace and this forces work over load to the little Organization's staff hence reducing on the services to be rendered to the Organization's beneficiaries.

The Sunny Side Foundation is located in the heart of Wakiso District in Uganda in a typically green environment surrounded by loving and friendly neighborhood both at the Residence and Organization premises.

In the due course of the work, volunteers are to work with the local and international Organization staff such as Administrators and teaching staff.

With the volunteers choosing to work with our Organization they will be provided with compatible work according to the volunteer's experience, strength and weaknesses so as to render productive services to both the Organization and beneficiaries. Some of the activities that the volunteers will engage in include; teaching, help in making teaching aid, help in cooking, help in fundraising and many more lawful activities that the volunteer may find fit for the Organization.

Volunteers are reminded to come with cloths for both wet season and dry season.

The importances of working with our Organization at its project Sunny Side of Life are;

- We are working with the most vulnerable children and youths that have no hopes of being helped and working with us will be a giving hope to the these kinds of people.

- Our project is located in a location suitable for adventure and relaxing because we are located in a green surrounded environment.

- Our Organization partners with touring companies that can provide touring services to our volunteers at an affordable price.

- Our organization is the struggle of looking for man-power yet we have very many project that need manpower so your volunteering will be highly appreciated.

Volunteers are expected to help in class like; teaching, marking assignments, playing with children, feeding some disabled children, making teaching aid and many more class activities.

Volunteers are to help in conducting domestic work like helping in cooking, washing and many more activities that the volunteer can help in.

 Volunteers are to work with the organization staff at school, coordinator, directors and organization caretakers for proper execution of activities.

At the end of the volunteering period volunteers are to be awarded with certificates of appreciation.
