This foundation for street dogs has made it their mission to provide the stray dogs with a temporary home where they receive treatment and trainig. The goal is adoption. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+

You are an animal lover and always wanted to live abroad for a while? Why not volunteer for a dog shelter program in Argentina for a couple of weeks or even months?

This is the perfect opportunity for you to increase your spanish and intercultural skills as well as learn about a new country and its people. 

You will be working in a team of around 10 other people that are mostly all native Argentines that care for around 25 dogs that they rescued from the streets. The dogs are cared for, receive medical treatments and training so that loving people can later adopt them. 

The non-profit foundation relies on external help in form of financial support of voluntary manpower since charitable work like this does not get any financial support by the government in Argentina. 

Since the program is located near Córdoba, Argentina, you will have the possibility to easily travel through Southamerica before or after your program. 

Typical day

You will be working six hours a day with one free day a week. A typical day will contain the following work tasks: 

  • Cleaning the compounds and facilities 
  • Feeding and cleaning the dogs
  • Walking the dogs and playing with them 
  • Assist during medical treatments 
  • Help with adoption process 
  • etc. 

Free-time activities

The province of Cordoba in the northwest of Argentina surprises its visitors with countless attractions, framed by mountains, beautiful rivers and small creeks, plentyful green areas and woodlands, mild weather yearround and its unique landscapes. In and around Cordoba you can find plentyful opportunities to explore cultural and historic sites, bohemian art markets, archeological sites, local cusine and diverse option for outdoor sports.


In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

You need to speak English (basic level) or Spanish (intermediate level)

No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Other Skills
no special skills are required but it is important that you are an animal lover, responsible and hard-working.
Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 09:00 - 16:00

The participants will be accommodated in a Volunteer House on the property of the program. They will be sharing a bedroom with maximum one other person and will also share the bathrooms and common area of the house. 

There is limited access to internet.

What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees. An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either. Food, snacks or beverages are at extra costs.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Ingeniero Aeronautico Ambrosio L.V. Taravella International Airport (COR) in Cordoba. We assist you to find cheap flights to Argentina.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Argentina provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Argentina you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Argentina.

Details on arrival

You can start volunteering for the Dog Shelter all year round. Upon arrival, a staff member will come to pick you up at the airport in Córdoba, Argentina and drive you to the program location that will also be your accommodation. After finishing your program, you will be taken back to the airport again.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with South America Inside during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
