Sustainable Bolivia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the Bolivian Amazon that partners with local initiatives to provides resources that support ecotourism, regenerative agriculture, health and education. Volunteers and interns are placed with partner NGOs throughout the country, namely in and around Riberalta, Bolivia.
Centro Nuevos Horizontes (New Horizon Center) is a multi-faceted service program center for children and adults with special needs. They receive 35 children and 5 to 6 adults daily, putting the focus on children. They empower patients to assume their right place in society while enhancing families´ability to nurture and support them. Through rehabilitative services and individual treatment plans, program staff help each individual to attain the highest level of independence possible so they can lead a fuller and more productive life within their families and communities.
In addition to providing rehabilitative services, Centro Nuevos Horizontes advocates for rights of disabled persons within the community.
From 9am-3pm Monday-Friday, the center serves primarily as a daycare for the many children they receive. Nuevos Horizontes is looking for a compassionate, responsible individual to help out supervising and engaging with the children during daycare hours.

In their free time, volunteers can enjoy a lot of activities around Riberalta such as enjoying the nature of the Amazon (tours, trekking) and the animals, enjoying the rivers (boat tours) or the swimming pools close-by. It is also very easy to go to Brazil where you there is a lot of amenities for shopping.
