Besides the weekly afterschool activities program, we organize different events in the township where everyone can show their art and do music, dancing or theatre performances on a little stage. We also offer workshops for sustainability, gardening, English, maths and art and we hold meetings with the locals to discuss environmental and social issues with them.

The volunteers are accommodated in a nice guesthouse in Port Elizabeth. We incourage having fun with the kids and facilitators in the township for 4 hours daily from Monday to Friday.

Typical day

Volunteers are accommodated in our stunning riverfront guesthouse in Redhouse (Port Elizabeth) and are working with the kids and facilitators in the township 4-5 hours daily from Monday to Friday, in addition to that you help a little with social media and other organisational tasks, which you can do from the accommodation in the mornings.

In the mornings, you can also relax in the sun, swim in the river, go surfing, go for a hikes or take a SUP/ kayak tour on the river.

In the project there will be different tasks every day, but most of the time you play with the kids, do art, games and sports activities with them. You can be creative and implement an own workshop or activity for the kids.

In the evenings you go back to your lovely accommodation and enjoy the amazing vibe on our terrasse at the river or at our fireplace together with the other volunteers and project facilitators.
