The animal park is located in a small village about 3 to 4 hours from Cochabamba. There are a number of different animals, for
example monkeys, reptiles, a few feline species, different bird species and a bear. All animals have been traded (illegally) or have
been kept as domestic animals and pets. In the park, the animals are given a second chance. Many of them can’t be released into the
wild anymore, so the park provides them with food and shelter and tries to imitate their natural habitat as well as possible by keeping
them in a ‘semi-free’ environment. Volunteers are needed to help feed and take care of the animals, repair the shelters etc. How your
working day will look depends on the work that needs to be done. There are always a lot of volunteers helping out and the atmosphere
is international with a great sense of community.
This is a small but nevertheless touristy village. While you might miss a vast cultural life, there are restaurants, bars and karaoke places here. It's is surrounded by nature and you can go for jungle hikes and do canoying.
