Highlights

Be surrounded by wildlife and nature.
Go on a adventures boat tour on the nearby river
Live in a remote place under basic conditions
Experience the solidarity and community-vibe of international volunteering
Live and work with monkeys
Take care of rescued animals and creat a semi-libral habitat for them. Monkeys, birds and other endangered species found a new home here. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Singles
Couples
Groups

The animal park is located in a small village about 3 to 4 hours from Cochabamba. There are a number of different animals, for
example monkeys, reptiles, a few feline species, different bird species and a bear. All animals have been traded (illegally) or have
been kept as domestic animals and pets. In the park, the animals are given a second chance. Many of them can’t be released into the
wild anymore, so the park provides them with food and shelter and tries to imitate their natural habitat as well as possible by keeping
them in a ‘semi-free’ environment. Volunteers are needed to help feed and take care of the animals, repair the shelters etc. How your
working day will look depends on the work that needs to be done. There are always a lot of volunteers helping out and the atmosphere
is international with a great sense of community.

Typical day

You might get up and prepare food for the bear. Then you bring a group of monkeys to the woods (they come back later for the night)

Then you have to fix a trail that was demaged by the heavy rains. After lunch with the other volunteers you and two others continue to build an enclosure for the parrots that need a bigger home, because there are too many of them now. You carry materials and get your hands dirty and the time flies by.

At the end of the day you sit arround with a group of volunteers. Someone sacrified him/gerself to cook dinner. You take a shower and after reading the first page of your novel, you fall into a deep sleep sourrounded by the sound of nature.

Free-time activities

This is a small but nevertheless touristy village. While you might miss a vast cultural life, there are restaurants, bars and karaoke places here. It's is surrounded by nature and you can go for jungle hikes and do canoying.
