This African Adventure takes you behind the scenes of a world of exotic wildlife, Nature Conservation initiatives, and breathtaking national parks that will leave you speechless and put your previous vacations to shame!   

The 15 Day Ugandan Wildlife & Gorilla Conservation EduTour begins with a trip to the beautiful Murchison Falls National Park and the Ziwa Rhino Ranch for a lecture on Rhino conservation and sightseeing! The next day at the park offers a morning Game Drive to see the nocturnal species of the area and then a Boat Cruise along the Nile! Murchison is home to thousands of species including big game like lions, antelope, giraffes, buffalo, and elephants!

The next stop on the tour is Fort Portal which offers beautiful nature scenes, wildlife, and the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru Caves that have a large cultural significance in the area. The Fort Portal Crater Field offers gorgeous views of crater lakes and hollows and also scenes of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon).

A morning chimpanzee trek and Bigodi Wetland Walk encompass your second day of the stop at Fort Portal as the 15 Day Ugandan Wildlife & Gorilla Conservation EduTour dives further into the Ugandan brush! A stop in Kibale Forest (numerous different species of primates, birds, and butterflies abound) and a trip to the Bigodi Swamp Ecotourism Site are also highlights of the Fort Portal area.

Up next on the 15 Day Ugandan Wildlife & Gorilla Conservation EduTour, Queen Elizabeth National Park! The breathtaking scenes and exotic animals will wow you, and that’s not all! You’ll enjoy a visit to Lake George on the way, and a rare exploration opportunity on the Kazinga Channel Cruise! (This channel is not only one of the most gorgeous parts of the country but is also home to Nile Crocodiles and large game that is sure to be flooding the shores on a hot day.

A Game Drive in the Ishasha Sector is next on the itinerary. This area is home to the famed Climbing Lions (Yes, you read correctly: Climbing Lions!) These fantastic felines climb trees and bathe in the sun on branches awaiting their prey to walk beneath!

The next day in Ishasha offers a Gorilla Trek and a visit to the see the ancient Batwa Pygmies! This hike into the Gorilla’s natural habitat is one of the most rare wildlife experiences on Earth and is a true highlight of any Safari trip. With an hour of up-close contact with these gentle apes, you are free to shoot as many photos as you want!

And the 15 Day Ugandan Wildlife & Gorilla Conservation EduTour isn’t over yet! A high ropes course and zip-lining adventure is next as you soar the through the trees and across Lake Bunyoni (The second deepest lake on the continent!), heart-pounding fun and breathtaking scenes! A Sunrise boat Cruise around the lake the next morning offers amazing scenery and serene moments before you head to Mburo National Park!

While at this wonderful National Park, you’ll enjoy a morning Game Drive (a chance to see unique acacia vegetation along with herds of buffalo, zebras, antelopes, hippos, and more! In the evening, immerse yourself in the Ankole Cultural Tour at the “Local Cattle” Center and a rare opportunity to enjoy time with the native Banyankole Pastoralists!

The final day at the Mburo Park is also the end of the 15 Day Ugandan Wildlife & Gorilla Conservation EduTour, so it sure to be filled with exciting experiences! A Bush Walking Safari reveals all sorts of wildlife as you traverse the Savannah Acacia landscapes dotted with extrusive Kopje rocks along with other Precambrian rocks that date back 500 million years!

Typical day

DAY 1: Arrival in Uganda/Welcome Dinner & Orientation

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by the driver/guide who will drive you to the hotel/lodge.

DAY 2: Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Embark on the trip to Murchison Falls National Park in the north of Uganda, a journey of 311km about 5 hours’ drive.

Day Lecture: Rhino conservation, poaching, number of species available, and much more..

Evening Lecture: About Murchison Falls National Park.

DAY 3: Morning Game Drive & a Boat Cruise along the Nile

Today you will wake up very early to go for a Morning Game Drive where you will have a chance to spot early risers and nocturnal species before they return to their hideouts.

In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thunders through a small 7 meter gorge plunging 43 meters into the Nile on the way to Lake Albert.

The launch cruise will take you close to the falls’ base where you will be shown the spot where Ernest Hemingway’s plane crashed during sightseeing tour to Murchison Falls in 1954.

You can then get off the boat and go hiking up the side of the falls to the top.

DAY 4: Transfer to Hoima & Visit Kibiro Salt Gardens

Today we embark on the journey to Hoima.

Retreat from this activity and move on to Hoima for relaxation and dinner.

DAY 5: Fort Portal & a Hike to the Amabere G'anyinamwiru Caves

Today you embark on the transfer to Fort Portal Area about 5 hours’ drive, traversing the rural sceneries and traditional homesteads of Kagadi District before suddenly getting into Kyenjojo and eventually Fort Portal Town.

You take a rest before you continue to the cater fields and Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru for lunch, then drive to visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves which is an ancient site with great traditional significance attached to the natives.

From this activity, you proceed to hike the Fort Portal Crater Field, the magnificent Nyakasura Hills that overlook Fort Portal Town and summiting the towering Kyeganywa Hill offers you impressive vistas of the crater lakes and crater hollows below and the distant views of the legendary "Mountains of the Moon", Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day.

Evening lecture: Kibale Forest National Park and Chimpanzee Conservation.

DAY 6: Morning Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

DAY 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Visit Lake George en route & do an afternoon launch cruise along Kazinga Channel.

After breakfast, undertake a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the South of Kibale, a journey of 157km about 3 hours’ drive.

The Kazinga Channel stretches to 45km in length at one time had much concentration of Hippopotamus population in the region until the management decided to carry out culling in 1960s.

You enjoy the wide views of the Nile crocodiles and other wild game quenching their thirst on the waters of Kazinga Channel and flocking its shores on a hot day.

DAY 8: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Ishasha Sector

The game drive normally lasts for 3 – 4 hours after which you return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch before you transfer to Ishasha sector for a short evening game drive as you head to the lodge.

DAY 9: Game Drive in Ishasha & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Today we embark on a trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the South Western part of Uganda.

You undertake a game drive in this part of park searching for the tree climbing Lions.

After this encounter, we proceed on the drive to Bwindi arriving in the evening for relaxation and dinner.

Evening Lecture: Bwindi Inpenetrable National Park – conservation status of the Mountain Gorillas, the Batwa Communities, and other key aspects of this park.

DAY 10: Gorilla trekking & visit the batwa pygmies. 

DAY 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. High ropes adventure and zip lining. 

DAY 12: Sun rise boat cruise at Lake Bunyonyi. Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

DAY 13: Morning game drive & Evening Ankole Cultural tour

DAY 15: Departure Day
