Nepal, being a developing country; the government is struggling for strengthening the quality education facilities in Nepal. In that also rural communities are far behind from the access of educational opportunities. Realizing the dire needs of lack of access in education facilities in rural areas of Nepal, Indra foundation initiated this program to address the issues and help the local communities to have better education opportunities available in the villages locally.
About the Program
Volunteer in Nepal School for Teaching Program is a special volunteer program which gives you an opportunity for teaching in rural community schools in Nepal and spreading the brightness of Educational light among the children of rural villages in Nepal! As a volunteer in Nepal schools, your main role will be teaching English / other subjects as per your skills and help children to be inspired for doing something good and great for their communities though the means of proper education / schooling.
In another way, it will give you a true experience of how the education system working in Nepal and gain rewarding experiences by teaching the village school children. More on that, this program will also be a chance for you to enjoy the beautiful rural lifestyle of Nepal staying with typical Nepali host family; living in a village with a limited modern facilities! We can combine this program as a package of authentic volunteer experiences through meaningful travel for contributing educational brightness among Nepal Villages!
During your time at the program, you will be living with a local host family. They will not only provide you with an accommodation, but they will also provide you with food three time a day according to a typical Nepali menu.

During your Nepal trip as a volunteer in Nepal, there are many adventure travel opportunities in your weekend or even take some time gap from your program. In order to spend your weekend you can go visiting one of the Asia's Largest and most beautiful tea gardens in Ilam (Eastern Nepal) where you can see the majestic views of carpet like rolling hills covered with teas, or go wild in jungle safari or take a time gap for going to the lap of the Himalayas for Trekking adventures!

There is no typical working day. Your working time is flexible. But you can expect to work 5-6 days a week about 6-8 hours a day. All the other time is your free time where you can relax, go on some adventures or discover the surroundings.
As a Volunteer in this program, your activities will be:
Well in the free time, you can have the opportunity to visit nearby villages to experience typical Nepali life.
You are welcome to go on short hiking trips to experience the wonderful nature of Nepal or simply relax and do some yoga in our beautiful village.
During the weekend you can go short trekking in Mountains, rafting, or on safari etc.
We recommend you visit our most beautiful places like Ilam, Bhedetar, Gufapokhari, Taplejung etc.
We will pick up our volunteers from Kathamndu International airport (to and from program site).
Volunteers will be provided with a spacious separate room on single / double occupancy basis. The rooms are very clean, with good peaceful, homely and family environment. Neat and clean Bathrooms are available for sharing.
All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) during your training period & placement, will be provided according to the Nepali menu. If you have any special dietary requirements or any food suggestions we provided it to you according to your own need... for example for vegetarian we can provide vegetarian foods only!
This program is all year round program, so available throughout the year! We are flexible with dates and duration.
