Women play a key role in the family and society. Not only in Cambodia, but all over the world women are the ones raising the children, caring about the family but often also generating the family’s income. The program volunteers will work in aims at improving social and gender equality through advocacy and the promotion of information sharing and communication. Women's Empowerment for Social Change is designed to help women exercise their rights in a balanced way and can build competence to become self-sufficient, with improved women's participation in social, economic and political life, the program also provides capacity building, forum discussions on key women's issues and research on women.
This program will help the volunteers to learn a lot about the issue from vulnerable women in Cambodia because mostly, the volunteers go to work in the community for studying about the problem that they face with. This project can lead volunteers to work with poor and vulnerable women in community in order to help them to provide more education and counseling on women's right. Women's Empowerment support also give the chance to volunteers to share idea for making business plan for poor and vulnerable women in order to support women in business and development. Qualify volunteer need to be flexible and want to learn more from the poor and vulnerable people in community. At least, volunteers need to have intermediate level of English and have educational background in related to the fields.
Volunteers will assist local staffs with writing on reports and proposals. You will use their English skills to correct reports of the local staffs and participate in meetings and workshops. You will help with improving the program and work together with the local staffs to empower women and educating them about their rights. Volunteers might get the chance to conduct interviews or assist staffs doing so. They will closely participate in the activities related to Women’s empowerment and learn about gender issues in Cambodia.
You will work from Monday to Friday and working hours from 8:30am-5pm.
Every volunteers will get the weekend off. Volunteers can also travel by bus to visit many provinces at weekend or during national holiday such as to Phonm Penh, the capital city or Sihahouk Vill and Kampot to see beaches.
Siem Reap, located in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the world-famous Angkor temple complex, which includes the magnificent Angkor Wat. The province also contains a vibrant capital city boasting many luxury hotels, beautifully-aged colonial buildings, a buzzing Pub Street, silk farms, markets, and much more.
The city of Siem Reap, also the capital of the province, is a ‘must-visit’ destination for all visitors to Cambodia. This is where the glorious 12th Century Angkor Wat temple, the largest religious building in the world, is located. Situated on the northern bank of the Tonle Sap Great Lake, this mesmerizing eighth wonder of the world can be easily accessed by plane, land, and boat.

One of our team will wait you at the airport. When you arrived at the arrivals area please look for a sign with your name written on it. We will bring you to our volunteer house and usually it take around 30 minute from the airport. On the way our team will explain you about safety and what prepare for tomorrow orientation.
Volunteer House
The Volunteer House is located in the center of city and are within minutes of many of the major tourist attractions. The Volunteer House has Wi-Fi, computers, bicycles, and laundry machine. Most volunteers share room with other volunteers, however, private rooms can be booked for those that desire.
You will be provided with three meals a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner at each of our volunteer house. Khmer cuisine shares many commonalities with the food of neighboring Thailand and Vietnam and commonly contains rice, vegetables, or noodles. Breakfast typically includes coffee, tea, and juice with bread or eggs. Lunch and dinner meals typically consist of rice, noodles, soup, vegetables, beef, fish, pork and fruit.
The program start every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month and we run the program throughout the year. Volunteers should arrive Cambodia at the weekend before Monday. However, we are still possible to arrange the program for you if you want to come at a different start date.
