Anjali House is looking for a Young Adult Program Assistant volunteer to assist and support our Young
Adult Program Coordinator. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:

DESCRIPTION

Anjali house is looking for a Young Adult Program Assistant to help and support our Young Adult Program coordinator. We are looking for someone who will be able to:
  • Conducting workshops or training with Young Adult students about behaviour, life skills, job orientation, leadership, body health, Human values of right VS wrong, helping others, personal and professional integrity
  • Consult with students and families for any problems/issues;
  •  Students assessment (their personal academic strengths, weaknesses and possibilities for how they can pursue their interests with further education or apprenticeships);
  • Work with students who have long term difficulties;
  • Connect with NGO partners which have similar projects or services;
  • Support with Anjali House staff for making curriculum, materials;
  • Support our staff to create a YAP system structure
  • Community or families survey for our students understanding of challenge faced of their community and country, climate change, clean water, hygiene;
  • Compile a data base of NGO programs in Siem Reap to highlight different training opportunities when the students have completed school;
  • Source scholarship opportunities;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the Program.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES
  • Background in social work;
  • Experience in working with young adults;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the child protection policy.

OTHERS
  • Volunteers and interns can apply to this mission.
  • The volunteer/intern must be covered by medical insurance for the duration of the mission.
  • The volunteer/intern shall not receive any remuneration and shall be responsible for covering all costs incurred during the mission as we do not have the capacity to pay for these allowances.
  • According to our availabilities, the volunteer/intern will be provided a bicycle during the period of the mission.

Typical day

You are expected to be at Anjali House from 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday. We have many public holidays in Cambodia; hence Anjali House will be closed on these days. Apart from those days off, it is expected that you will attend every day.

Lunch is provided every day at 11:45. You can also eat near of the organization for 1$-3$.

As you may need  to access the internet and prepare your lessons, we advise you to bring your own laptop.

Free-time activities

During their free time, volunteers can visit Siem Reap and its surroundings. Some places are famous as the Angkor Wat or the floating village. The city is dynamic and there are a lot of things to do during the weekends

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

What's Included

Services by Anjali House Cambodia

We ask volunteers for a one-off donation  to go into our general budget, which supports our programs.

This contribution is to offset administrative expenses for volunteers and serves as a general contribution to our NGO; a standard practice at most charities in Southeast Asia.

Food & Beverages

We provide a free meal for lunch. It typically consists of rice with vegetables and meat.

Internet Access
Good access at the project site
What's NOT included?
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees. An airport pickup isn't included within the program fees either. Please arrange your own accommodation.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Siem Reap International Airport (REP) in Siem Reap. We assist you to find cheap flights to Cambodia.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Cambodia provides security and is a plus to have.
Vaccines
If you are intending to volunteer in Cambodia you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Cambodia.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Anjali House Cambodia during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
