X-SUBA is a registered non-profit community based organization operating in Jinja, eastern Uganda, empowering young people at risk through sports and life skills. Under these programs, several projects are run which create an opportunistic environment for the children we reach out to.
X-SUBA has a management team of 12 and a maintained team of 5 volunteers enrolled over time of service.
X-SUBA’S involvement with these schools is to support and promote sports and life skills development as a strategy and also to ensure after school sports activities as a model to lead young people in making productive and right choices as they grow up.
X-SUBA also partners with the Child Protection Department of the police force and local child right organisations as a watch out strategy for children’s rights.We run 5 life skill lessons a week reaching out to an average number of 98 children per class. We also compliment the life skill lessons with sports activities. The main challenge faced by these children is that they are from poverty stricken homes characterized by low household income which gives them less capacity to provide for basic needs
