If there are two things to mention about Thailand, which represents its culture, biodiversity, lifestyle, and tourism, then it'd certainly be its enigmatic beaches and highly revered elephants.
The program
Volunteering Solutions has designed a unique 2 weeks program which offers the volunteers the platform to engage and experience both these important elements. Clubbing the event of doing volunteer work with elephants and visiting some of the most enthralling beaches in Thailand, the Elephant 2 Beaches Program is an absolute delight for gap year travelers and adventure seekers.
Who we are looking for
This program has been specially crafted keeping in mind the need of all - while high school/ university students can be a part of this program to volunteer, gap year travelers and backpackers can join for discovering Thailand differently and tickle their adventure cells!
What you can expect
Participants joining the Elephant 2 Islands Tour in Thailand will get to explore the amazing elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, relax and detox by the beaches in Koh Samui, explore the natural beauty of the virgin islands, volunteer for the kids and spread some joy, dive deep into the sea for a visual treat of the underwater world and a lot more!
Typical day
DAY 01 : WELCOME TO BANGKOK
It’s the moment that you’ve been waiting for; your Thailand adventure is starting now! Upon arrival to Bangkok our coordinator will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your starting accommodation in the heart of the bustling capital city. After some rest and relaxation, head out for a welcome dinner and some drinks, and spend the evening exploring the lively and dynamic China Town! Please note that in order to receive airport pick-up from our team, arrivals must be between 08:00 and 20:00. If you arrive outside of these times you may alternatively make your own way to the accommodation.

DAY 02 : SCOOTER TOUR
Today you’ll get to see Bangkok as it’s never been seen before! Whiz through the streets of this metropolis city on an exhilarating (and very safe) electric scooter tour! This is the perfect way to discover the magic of Bangkok! In the evening, catch the overnight train to our next location - Chiang Mai!
DAY 03 : ELE-PALS
It’s finally here! After arrival in Chiang Mai, head off into the jungle to meet your new ele-friends! Learn about how these elephants are being cared for ethically and responsibly, and why it’s so important that we care for them properly! Please note that the itinerary for this project varies depending on weather, external factors, and what the elephants want and need at the time of your trip!

DAY 04 – DAY 06: ELE-FUN
Continue working at the project with the elephants in the stunning and scenic Chiang Mai! There is nothing better than being in the jungle, surrounded by these gentle giants,and it will surely be a day to remember! Please note that the itinerary for this project varies depending on weather, external factors, and what the elephants want and need at the time of your trip!

DAY 07: BACK TO CHIANG MAI
It’s time to head back down the valley to spend some more time in the city before moving on to our next location! Don’t worry, coming back down is much easier than going up!

DAY 08: BEACH TIME
Dreaming of sandy beaches and golden tans? Now is your chance! You’ll be given your flight details prior to your flight, and you will be transferred to the airport where you will fly south to the picturesque beaches of Krabi! One of our coordinators will meet you at Krabi Airport and transfer you to your accommodation. You’ll be met by the beautiful white-sand beaches and golden sunsets that Krabi has become famous for!

**GUIDE would leave the group at the airport once you are checked-in.
DAY 09: KRABI BY KAYAK
What is the best way to explore Krabi? From the water of course, which is why this morning we’ll be heading out in kayaks to explore the local mangrove forests, truly an unforgettable sight! You can also venture into some of the nearby caves, where you might get the chance to see some cave drawings dating back 3000 years!

DAY 10: WONDROUS KRABI
This is your chance to top-up on your golden tan, grab some more photos to make your friends back home jealous, or just chill by the pool with a cocktail, with three whole free days in stunning Krabi! Whatever you want to do, Krabi can offer it! There’s so much to do and explore!

DAY 11: SNORKEL BOAT TRIP
Surrounded by gloriously crystal blue waters, there is no better way to experience the true, unmarred beauty of Krabi than by heading out on the water! Today we’ll venture out onto the ocean for a relaxing boat trip around Krabi, offering you the perfect time to swim, sunbathe,or simply take in the stunning sights!

DAY 12 : FREE DAY
Enjoy a free day today and explore Krabi on your own.

DAY 13: BACK TO BANGKOK
Now that we’ve explored Krabi to the fullest, it’s time to head back to where it all began;Bangkok! Transfer to bus station and night bus back to Bangkok.

DAY 14 : FREE DAY in BANGKOK
Free day in Bangkok. Final night farewell dinner.

DAY 15: FAREWELL
Time to check out from the accommodation. Unfortunately it’s time to bid farewell to sunny Thailand as you hop on-board your flight and head-off on your next adventure, wherever that may take you! Remember, it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!
Free-time activities
Being a volunteer and adventure program itself, volunteers will be involved in a lot of activities entire day. Evenings are, however, free for them to do whatever they wish to. They can just relax in their accommodation and discuss their day with other volunteers or can explore the local markets.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Participants are picked up from the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok by a local team member on the program start date. Please note that airport pickup is only provided between 6am – 10pm at night. Those participants who are already in Bangkok will need to make their own way to the hotel/guest house accommodation details of which shall be provided.
While in Bangkok, participants are provided accommodation in a hostel located at Khao San Road. The hostel features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Bangkok. Located around 300 m from Khao San Road, the hostel with free WiFi is also 1.1 km away from Bangkok National Museum. The hostel has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, evening entertainment and a 24-hour front desk.
In Chiang Mai, participants stay at a quiet and secure boutique resort which is just a few minutes' walk to Chiang Mai Night Bazaar.While working in the elephant camp, accommodation is provided in the project itself.
While in Krabi you would stay at a wonderful accommodation situated in the heart of Ao Nang.The hostel’s location could not be better for sampling the sights which Ao Nang has to offer, 10-15 minute walk to the beach and close proximity to all local bars and restaurants.
Meals are provided are strictly as per the itinerary as given above.
We shall encourage you to try the authentic local cuisine - because when you’re in Thailand, you just can’t miss Thai food!
Limited access at the project site
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
The nearest airport is Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) in Chiang Mai. We assist you to find cheap flights to Tailandia.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Tailandia provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Tailandia you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Tailandia.
