During the past 4 month in this very year (2022), we have lost over 6 people due to Typhoid illness and very many others are in the hospital battling with this illness. One of the victims of this illness got blind after being injected with a vaccine that wasn't compatible with his body cells and blood because that's the only vaccine the hospital had and the man was in a terrible condition and there was no option left. So on the medicine reaction in his body, it just made him blind its now getting to a years since he got blind. And all this can be seen as a result of Typhoid because if he didn't contract this illness he would have gone to the hospital and get injected with this vaccine.
All this result in the very dirty water source that we all draw water from that we use for both home use and the nearby schools. From time to time this water gets polluted because the nearby factories deposit there waste near our water source and make it inevitable for the water source to be polluted.
For that matter we wish to join hands with anyone who wishes to be part of and construct water sources such as; Boreholes, Piped water and other water sources that we can put in place in our community and the nearby communities hence making our lives safe with no worries of loosing our loved ones again due to Typhoid.
There is also a great social element to our programmes. We put you in touch with all your fellow volunteers via Facebook / WhatsApp before you set off so that you can be confident of where your heading to. Our projects receive volunteers from around the world throughout the year, so even if you’re travelling solo, you’re going to meet heaps of people along the way. Plus you’ll have plenty of opportunities to travel the country with your new found travel buddies – it’s all part of the Hearts For Hope Africa experience!
So if you’re thinking of doing something a bit different on your next trip abroad, then why not drop us a line and find out what extraordinary things you could be doing.
