Join us on adventure of a life time! This eco-tourism trip will take you through some of the last unspoiled wildernesses of this world while simultaneously providing alternative income to indigenous communities which helps sustain the indigenous people way of life, the rainforest they live in and the wildlife they share the rainforest with.
Our team of indigenous guides and ex military survival specialist are the best team you can imagine and will keep you safe and amazed during your trip. We will venture through the rainforests, wetlands & savannahs of Guyana and Brazil in search of Jaguars and other wildlife. Guyana is South America's only English speaking country and exists for close to 80% of unspoiled rainforest. Guyana is truly one of the last wild places of this world full with wildlife and friendly indigenous communities.
While you need to travel deeper in to the Brazilian rainforest to find such diversity as you would find in Guyana there are still some very beautiful and wildlife rich places left. To top it all off we will venture in to the Worlds largest wetland; The Pantanal! There truly is no place like the Pantanal and it is one of the best places in the world to see wildlife. On top of that there is almost a guaranteed chance to see Jaguars in the wild in the Pantanal!
Besides our expedition to see a jaguar in the wild we will also venture out to find Jaguar tracks, squats, scratch markings and kills. Further we will set camera traps to try and retrieve more footage of jaguars as well. Lastly we will venture out at night and try to hear jaguars roar at night.
While we can never guarantee jaguar sightings our trip is specifically designed to go to the right places at the right time and with our experts guides the chances are very high. Further you will encounter many different species of wildlife.

Typical day
- After the initial gathering we will venture deep in to the interior of Guyana by small airplane. From there we will travel by 4x4 for over 3 hours to the river landing. From there we will venture by deep in to the rainforest of Guyana by boat.
- For the next 5 days we will sleep at a river camp in search of Jaguars while we sleep in Hammocks. We will search on the river besides jaguars also for Giant river Otters, macaws, toucans, Anaconda's and Black Caiman. We will set camera traps and look for tracks along the river side. There will also be plenty of opportunity to fish for Black Piranha and other fish.
- On our return towards the boatlanding we will visit an indigenous community and climb a local mountain for amazing views.
- We will travel towards the savannahs of Guyana where we will spend 3 days looking for Jaguars and giant anteaters. Here we will spend time at the ranch of indigenous cowboys called vaqueros. We will discover the savannahs by horseback.
- We will travel onwards to the mighty Amazon river near Manaus. We will travel further upstream and venture in to the rainforests in search of Jaguars. For 4 days we will search Jaguars and other wildlife as well as we learn about Jungle survival. In the night we will also venture out to hear Jaguars growl. We will sleep in Hammocks both in the jungle and at our river base.
- We will travel onwards to the Pantanal by airplane at a ranch lodge where you will sleep in comfortable beds. For the next 4 days we will further search for Jaguars, Tapir, Giant Anteaters, peccary and Hyacinth Macaw. The chance to see jaguars here is very high. We will set Camera traps as well to increase our chances even further.
- After Leaving the Pantanal it is time to travel back home or of course you can chose to travel onwards!
Free-time activities
Our trip is all inclusive and for the most part you will be occupied by the itinerary. When you do have downtime we recommend to relax and read a book or go for a swim.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.
You need to speak English (basic level)

Regular working hours are hardly predicable. It mainly depends on the work force. Get in touch with Fronteering Travel straight ahead to get more infos about current to dos and objectives.

20 days Jaguar Wildlife Expedition. The trip includes:
- Expert indigenous and ex military guides
- First aid and emergency support (including satellite phones)
- Transportation by boats, chartered airplanes, 4x4, busses and horseback.
- All meals and drinks (non alcoholic) included the only exception being when we are in Georgetown or Manaus.
Not included:
- International flights
- Insurance
- Meals & Drinks when in Georgetown and Manaus.
Airport pick up in Georgetown is included.
- Night 1: Sleep in a comfortable hotel in a regular bed in Georgetown.
- Night 2: You will sleep in a jungle Cabin in a regular bed.
- Night 3 - 6: You will sleep in a hammock at our river camp
- Night 7: You will sleep in a jungle Cabin in a regular bed.
- Night 8 - 10: You will sleep in cabin in regular beds
- Night 11: You will sleep in a regular bed in a hotel in Manaus.
- Night 12- 15: You will sleep in Hammock deeper in to the jungle and at our river Base.
- Night 16 - 19: you will sleep in a bed at the ranch in the Pantanal
Meals & drinks are included during the entirety of trip with the exception of when we are in the cities of Manaus and Georgetown. If you have a specific diet please let us know.
Good access at the project site
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
The nearest airport is Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO) in Manaus. We assist you to find cheap flights to Brasile.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Brasile provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Brasile you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Brasile.

This trip starts on the 27th of September of 2022.
Our official meet up location and date is the 27th of September in Georgetown Guyana. We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel.
Alternatively you can also meet us in Lethem on the 28th of September. This might be more convenient in case you are traveling from/to Boa Vista in Brazil.
