The project
Volunteering Solutions brings you a very effective and meaningful programs to show that you care to make this society better for everyone, and that you believe in the fact that children are the source to a better world and a better society. This is our Childcare in Social Welfare Program in Valencia.
The social project in downtown Valencia is designed to assist children from disadvantaged backgrounds, tutoring them in after school programs in a community center. Children have many difficulties in school and do not receive as much attention as they need from their parents and relatives. Volunteers are required to give special attention, care and love to these children.
Volunteer work
Some of the main tasks expected from the volunteers, under this projects, includes:
- Creating an activity based learning environment for children
- Help primary and high school students with their homework
- Teach English
- Play games with the kids
- Organize all kinds of workshops, sports or cultural activities
- Serve as role models and mentors and be an international friend for the children
- Contribute to create helping network for marginal neighborhoods
Our volunteers in the past have spent some really impactful volunteering time under this program, and have helped many children get strong in their subjects. Your active participation in this program can help a child achieve success and make a good life for themselves.
Typical day
A typical schedule of volunteers working for this program is a below:
- Volunteers will work according to the school week, from Monday to Friday between 4pm-8pm.
- For the rest of the day, volunteers will have time to relax, go to the beach, join our cultural activities, explore the city, practice sports at the River Park and go for tapas.
- Weekends are free to do some excursions or travel to other cities. Our local staff will give advice and help organize your trips!
- At the end of June, the official classes end and volunteers joining the program in this period will help organize and support the summer school for children in July.
- Schedule in July will be between 9am-3pm.
Free-time activities
You will get evenings and the weekends free, to travel and explore the places.In the evenings, volunteers usually get together and go out for social gatherings.
Weekends are free for the volunteers and you can go for short weekend trips. In Spain, you’ll see a magnitude of interesting sights. Visit the artistic Barcelona, the grandiose Royal Palace in Madrid, the imposing Catedral de la Almudena, the golden triangle of museums, Mezquita of Cordoba Ancient streets and many Renaissance, Baroque, Gothic or Romanesque monuments.
Also, go for a football match which is a must when in Spain.

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Volunteers are provided pickup from the Valencia Airport. The airport is served by some major airlines such as Iberia, Lufthansa, Ryan Air, Air France, Air Berlin and Transavia.
Volunteer Accommodation is provided in a single/twin room in a shared apartment. Accommodation is very comfortable with good facilities available. The rooms are well furnished and the apartment has a fully functional kitchen as well. Volunteers who want to cook their own meals can do so.
Good access at the project site
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Food, snacks or beverages are at extra costs.
The nearest airport is Valencia Airport (VLC) in Valencia. We assist you to find cheap flights to Spagna.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Spagna provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Spagna you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Spagna.

The program start date is also the arrival date for the volunteers, so one has to be at the destination on the given start date. For example, if you selected 15th October as your program start date, then you need to be in Valencia on the 15th.
