The Scientific Study on the animals and plants that live in the Amazon, Madre de Dios area, is very important for future environmental decisions.
With your help we can carry out this study. Taking walks between 1 and 2 hours through the Amazon, recording animals you see and specific plants.You will perform biological monitoring, harvest of seasonal fruits and agriculture.Agriculture and sustainable development Develop and implement different agricultural strategies. Our primary product is cocoa and acai, however, we also work with chestnut and other varieties of local fruits. We also seek to learn more about conservation challenges at the local level and how to generate changes for a better future. A help is always welcome in our farms either to harvest or give them love and maintenance..

SANDOVAL LAKE
Sandoval Lake is an unaltered, pure lake with a diverse fauna; Giant river otters, alligators, turtles, monkeys, variety of birds and much more. It is located 25 minutes from Puerto Maldonado, within the Tambopata National Reserve.
ZIPLINE AND BRIDGES Make this fun attraction in the heart of the Amazon, on the banks of the Tambopata River. Glide and get a great view of the river, the jungle and the horizon.
KAYAK If you like to sail, in Tambopata river you can rent kayak to navigate through the river and observe the fauna on the shore of the river, such as Capivaras and Caimanes, in addition to enjoying the beautiful landscape that the jungle offers you.

Requisitos
In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.
You need to speak Spanish (intermediate level)
No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Any extra skills will be welcome to collaborate!
Your helping hand will be required on
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

This research station does not receive money from the government, it is maintained with the action and contributions of the volunteers. The money is used to contribute to research at the scientific station, site maintenance, and expenses generated by volunteers such as food, transportation to and from the airport.
Volunteers should arrive at the Puerto Maldonado airport (PEM airport code), where a driver will be waiting to take them to the Project.
The station can accommodate 15 people, the beds are equipped with pillows, sheets, blankets and mosquito nets. They must maintain the cleanliness that is in charge of the volunteers. They can wash their clothes manually.
Guesthouse
The program includes 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. They are based on traditional dishes and dishes that the volunteers propose, since the kitchen is in charge of them.
Vegetarian people can apply to the project, they must first communicate it so meals are organized.
Sorry, no access at the project site
Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
The nearest airport is Puerto Maldonado Airport (PEM) in Puerto Maldonado. We assist you to find cheap flights to Peru.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Peru provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Peru you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Peru.
