Your volunteering in Senegal will be one of the best choices of destination to have this different experience. Senegal, a country full of diversity, culture and nature, will capture your eyes and leave you with beautiful memories of an unforgettable and indelible experience.

The volunteer will be with the women of the village of Djikesse, they are mostly illiterate, not knowing how to read or write. This makes it difficult for them to progress in their lives. Not knowing how to add up exposes them to deception at the market where they sell their garden harvest. For this reason, teaching workshops will be held.


Another activity is the 'Women's garden', next to the nursery and the school in the village of Djikesse there is a garden where the children, mothers and grandmothers of the children work. It is a cooperative where there are more than 100 women. This is the livelihood of many families as the produce is sold on a small scale at the market in Bignona.


Finally there is a 'Sewing workshop', in the village of Djikesse there is a small workshop where women and young people can go to sew. They sew small bags, sandwich holders, these products

A typical volunteer day begins with waking up at the accommodation. Volunteers have breakfast and meet at the project to distribute the daily tasks, meet with the local coordinator and see what activities are planned for the day.

A typical volunteer day begins with waking up at the accommodation. Volunteers have breakfast and meet at the project to distribute the daily tasks, meet with the local coordinator and see what activities are planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned task. A stop is made for lunch and, depending on the needs, tasks are continued or free time is available.


The volunteer may visit nearby areas in his or her free time. 

In the evening volunteers gather for dinner.

The schedule is 4-5 hours per day.

This lake is located north of the Senegalese peninsula of Cape Verde, in the department of Dakar, its pink color is due to the high level of salinity of the water and can be seen strong color in the dry season.

LOMPOUL DESERT

Located in the Sahel region, between Dakar and Saint-Louis, where you can take a tour of the dunes by camel and enjoy a nice campfire at sunset. 

SALOUM DELTA NATIONAL PARK

A World Heritage Site since 2011, it is the second largest natural park in Senegal, where you can see everything from grandiose mangroves to huge dunes and a variety of wildlife. 

MONUMENT TO THE AFRICAN RENAISSANCE

Located on the outskirts of Dakar, this 49-meter bronze sculpture was built by Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiby.

Alojamento

The volunteer sleeps in the volunteer house. The volunteer shares a room with other volunteers and also shares the common areas. 

Floor-level toilets (Turkish bath), showers with water tanks. The accommodation provides towels and bed linen for the volunteer.

The three daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included. These are local meals.

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.


Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence. 


Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
