Review Description

Who are we?

C-re-aid (Change Research Architecture Innovation Design) is a non-profit organization operating in northern Tanzania since 2012.

What we do?

Through our experience at C-re-aid and an analysis we found a rapid changing building culture, due to modern influences, climate change and environmental policies. These factors lead to poor building qualities and living situations. Poor living situations are contributing to the vulnerability to fall into poverty. Use of unecological materials will have disastrous consequences for the environment as people will always need more housing and infrastructure.

We want to handle this above issue.

Where we work?

C-re-aid has its head office in Moshi, Northern Tanzania. In July 2016 we opened a second office in Nungwi, Zanzibar. Both areas are located in Tanzania and are perfectly safe (Very low Malaria risk).

Our mission/vision

Through architectural programs C-re-aid aspires a place where people are creatively inspired within a hand reach to participate in an affordable and sustainable building culture.

By introducing a more sustainable and affordable building method, we strongly believe our programs have the ability to trigger social and economical change in a poverty stricken region.

C-re-aid organises several awareness and fundraising events in Belgium where the organisation is also registered as a non-profit.

Our goals

Training

Educate and train international and local people, in order to motivate/inspire more people (architects) to work in this field of social architecture.

Knowledge

Research and develop affordable and locally available building materials and building techniques in order to create a durable, ecological and sustainable building culture.

Design

Make architecture available for all and change the current building culture in order to improve living conditions for all and assist in the fight against poverty.

Innovation

Be an independent and financially strong organisation.

Who are we looking for?

C-re-aid is looking for motivated, adventurous people to complete our team in Tanzania. We give you the chance to come to Tanzania  and work on unique building programs.
