Review Description

Who we are?

The Mighty Roar is a relatively new company, but don't let that put you off. As we are one of the newer volunteer organisations, we want to do everything in our power to make each and every trip is special for all our volunteers. All of our team members have a wealth of experience in volunteering and a huge love for making a difference to the animals and communities we work with.

We're different to everyone else. We are dedicated to helping animals and communities around the world. Whether you want to help protect the elephants in Sri Lanka, track whales in the Azores or teach english in South Africa, you can be sure we have an amazing experience waiting for you.

As we are a small family organisation, this allows us to provide a friendly and personal service - you are not just another number to us! You can be sure that if you are considering a placement on one of our projects, the whole team will know who you are and where you're going.

All team members have personally visited and experienced every programme we offer, that way we can all truely tell you what to expect and answer any questions you may have.

What we do?

We provide structured, safe and affordable volunteer programmes overseas, where you will be able to make a positive impact in the conservation and preservation of some of the worlds most amazing animals, including; big cats, dolphins, elephants, lions, penguins, monkeys sharks and more! Not only this, but we also have several projects in place to help with teaching and childcare within the local communities.

Between our UK team and our local teams across the destinations we work with, we provide fast and efficient support to all volunteers. We are on hand 24/7 in case of any rare emergencies and everyone within The Mighty Roar will do everything in their power to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime.

Where we work?

At the moment we have 4 destinations across Africa, Asia, and Europe with the view to adding more on a regular basis. Our limited exposure to destinations means we can concentrate all of our efforts on the 15+ programmes we offer so we can ensure everyone has a great trip.

The countries we do currently work in, Malawi, Portugal, Sri Lanka and South Africa all provide something unique and allow volunteers to explore some of the most beautiful and immersive environments around.

Who are we looking for?

We welcome volunteers from any background, religion and nationality, as long as you are able to supply a clean criminal background check. In order to join the majority of our programmes, you will need to be at least 18 years old and have a  good level of speaking  / understanding English (although it does not have to be your first language). Our volunteering opportunities are open to anyone that has a passion for animals and to making a positive difference within the local communities.

Why choose us?

We go above and beyond with all of our volunteers to ensure you are 100% happy. Here are just a couple of reasons why you should choose us:

  • Beautiful destinations - Explore this extraordinary world by visiting Africa, Asia and Europe
  • Incredible animals - Our programmes allow you to help conserve, protect and research some of the worlds most endangered species
  • Structured programmes - Meaningful and responsible programmes mean there is no better way to travel while making a positive difference
  • 24/7 support - Our UK office and local teams around the world are on hand to provide support and to answer any questions
  • Safe travel - We regularly check all of the programmes we offer to ensure they are safe and all of our strict standards are being kept to
  • Affordable - Our programmes are generally cheaper than the competition, making them affordable to everyone while having transparent fees
  • Financial protection - All funds are financially protected in-line with the UK Travel Package Regulations for your peace of mind and security

I had an absolutely amazing time volunteering in Bali and would not have changed anything about my experience there. Not only was I made to feel so welcome by the locals, staff team and fellow volunteers, but I also developed my knowledge of marine conservation and diving considerably; learning ...
